Lisandra?

[name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] has been on my list for a long time, but I’ve never really heard it mentioned or discussed by anyone else. I’d really like to hear some thoughts on it, especially…

  • What does it bring to mind, any associations?
  • [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer the spelling [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f], Lissandra or [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f]?
  • What middle name would you pair with it?

Although I won’t be actually using it anytime soon, I’d love to hear what you all think. Thank you

[name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] is such an interesting one! If I were honoring a [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] and an [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], this is what I’d go for. [name_f]Lissy[/name_f] makes a very charming nickname, too.

I don’t have any associations with this name of any other spelling! I do, however, prefer [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f], but I also pronounce that a different way. To me that’s lie-SAND-ruh, whereas [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] is liss-SAND-ruh.

I’d go with [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u].

  1. [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] makes me think of ancient Greece and also a little bit of lizards, though that’s just with the [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] spelling. I think it’s cool, strong, and elegant. I love the -andra ending and the possibility of nn [name_f]Andie[/name_f].

  2. I prefer [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f]. [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] I would say “lih-SAND-ra” and [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f] like “lye-SAND-ra”

  3. Personally, I think I’d go with [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f]!

I like [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f]! [name_f]Lysandra[/name_f] is my personal favourite spelling, but I like [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] too! I guess [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] is more likely to lean towards the ‘lih-sand-ruh’ pn over the ‘lie-sand-ruh’ pn though - so it depends which you like best/where you are.

For me, it brings to mind imagery of sun shining through the trees, or, of sandy beaches and summery blue skies. It feels peaceful and strong at the same time.

For middles, I’d consider: [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
