What spelling is better? [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] or Lieselotte/Lieslotte? I don’t live in an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking country nor do I plan to do anyways so the lies thing won’t be a problem

What vibes does [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] give overall?

Lisselotte is very much maiden wandering in the mountains and by [name_m]German[/name_m] springs to me but in a good way. It’s definitely older but I don’t think it’s stuffy or dated. Rather, I find it charming and wistful!

I would probably go with a first name Lisselotte and choose a middle name that paired well and could hold its own. Maybe like:

Lisselotte [name_u]Nairne[/name_u]
Lisselotte [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
Lisselotte [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f]

Brothers: [name_m]Gregor[/name_m], [name_m]Hans[/name_m], Firenz, [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]
Sisters: [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f], [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], Edwinda

Definitely quite old fashioned in feel (As in, I would not expect it on a child at all but would be pleasantly surprised to encounter it!). The spelling [name_f]Lieselotte[/name_f] feels fresher and lighter to me.
I just checked and the name was actually most popular in 1918, so it should technically be due for a comeback soon

[name_f]Lilo[/name_f] is traditionally a nickname for [name_f]Lieselotte[/name_f] / [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] that I like a lot. There are a bunch of other great nicknames as well.

Some names I would expect as Lieselotte’s siblings: [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], [name_f]Margarete[/name_f], [name_u]Walter[/name_u], [name_m]Alfred[/name_m]
Some names I might pair with [name_f]Lieselotte[/name_f] in an attempt at a “modern” sibset: [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f], [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] (“Lilo”, “Maggie”, “Billie”, “Cass”, “Teddy”)

I’ve always loved this name! It was the name of the local librarian when I was a kid. She spelled it Liselott, but I think [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] might be better in some countries.

I really like it

[name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] is charming, fairy-tale-esque and intriguing with cute nickname options. I think I like [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] best.

In terms of siblings, I’m thinking [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f], [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Kornelia[/name_f], [name_m]Zigmund[/name_m], [name_m]Reinhold[/name_m], and [name_m]Korbinian[/name_m]

I’d probably use it as a middle, personally, with something short and snappy - like:

[name_f]Una[/name_f] [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f], [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f], [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f], [name_u]Mina[/name_u] [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f], [name_u]Nev[/name_u] [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f]

If I was to use it as a first, maybe:

[name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] [name_f]Mabli[/name_f], [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] [name_u]Romy[/name_u]

Of your choices, [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] followed by [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] are my faves

I hear the “selotte” part too distinctly for this name to be appealing. Maybe I’m pronouncing it wrong?

I think it’s gorgeous! I love [name_f]Liesl[/name_f], I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (even though the “lotte” is pronounced differently between these two names), and I love this historic name. I chose it for a character I played in a D&D campaign earlier this summer. I think it has such a vibrant, adventurous, and woodsy-wild sound and feeling. Like a villager in an ancient dwelling. A little Hobbit-y!!

[name_f]Liesl[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] are my personal faves. They feel more usable to me in the US, but also I just enjoy their brevity! All are really, truly lovely.

For siblings to [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f], I’d choose…
[name_f]Morwenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f]
[name_f]Myfanwy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eilonwy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ffion[/name_f]
or
[name_m]Roald[/name_m]
[name_m]Japheth[/name_m]
[name_m]Nebuchadnezzar[/name_m]
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]
[name_m]Hemlock[/name_m]

Your sibling name ideas are incredible, [name_f]Nell[/name_f]! I read them all individually with [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f], and I had a great time. How adventurous they are.

@snowmaiden thank you, [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]! I have to say, [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Hemlock[/name_m] is a dreamy set too!!

I’m not sure how to pronounce it, but it looks nice

What is this?

It’s…a name. It’s Old Testament, an ancient Hebrew name. Not much popular use, but I think it’s really cool.
