[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all , we just found out we are expecting a baby girl. We have a 2 year old boy called [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and I am a looking for a name for his little sister, middle name may be [name_f]Esther[/name_f] as its in the family and I would consider to carry it on. The 3 names we have both agreed on so far as possible names are [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] M… , [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] M… and [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] M…but I am still unsure and looking for inspiration. Would you consider [name_f]Esther[/name_f] for a first name? I like [name_f]Esther[/name_f]. It’s smart & classic & a little spunky. Clearly feminine but doesn’t feel frilly either. And it has cute nns of [name_f]Essie[/name_f] & [name_f]Tess[/name_f].
Here are my thoughts on the fn options you’re thinking of:
Maya-I’m assuming that this is My-uh? It’s beautiful & slightly exotic yet fairly simple. Smart, sleek, feminine but not fussy either. I do prefer [name_f]Maia[/name_f]. I just think that it looks nicer & maybe is easier to know the pronunciation.
Lila-I like this. I like it w/Finn too. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Esther[/name_f] sounds lovely. This is one of those names that I like in theory more than I actually like saying out loud…not sure why.
Roisin-This is a name that I should like…it feels kind of heavy. And I also don’t think that I know how to say it. But I love the fact that it’s unique & Irish.
