So… had a thread a few weeks ago and some awesome people made some awesome suggestions which were… awesome.
Our list was as follows:
- [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
- [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
- [name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
- [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
And someone wisely suggested [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]. We liked it but the pronunciation differences/us not being Scottish at all threw us a bit but we loved [name_m]Locke[/name_m] as a nickname. We were talking about how [name_m]Locke[/name_m] was the protagonist of one of our favorite books and how much we liked it and no lie, we locked ourselves out of our car…which is push to start and supposed to be impossible to lock you out. Could it be a sign!!!
Anyway I was wondering what people thought of [name_m]Locke[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] as a name. [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is family middle name I don’t want to change, but think it works anyway?
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it and how perfect that it’s from your favorite book, and the car story. He’d love a fun reason behind his name like that when he’s older, I’d bet!
I think [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] sounds a bit better with the middle name and still allows for [name_m]Locke[/name_m], but I also don’t think the pronunciation difference is a big issue considering how subtle it is. It seems more like an accent difference than a totally different pronunciation.
In any case I think they’re both excellent choices and [name_m]Locke[/name_m] has a more English/American association with [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Locke[/name_m], given that he was English and influenced the American Declaration of Independence. If you do go with one of them you’ll have a super fun story to tell!
[name_m]Locke[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is very handsome! [name_m]Locke[/name_m] is a really cool choice, and it reminds me of [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m] and [name_u]Loki[/name_u] (a bit), which I like. Unsual, and interesting, but usable :).
I didn’t even associate it with [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m]! That is a good connotation as well.
