I am done having children, so not considering it for myself, but I have had [name]Lois[/name] on my mind lately. It was my grandmother’s name, very popular in the early 1900s. [name]Lois[/name] is still quite “old lady” to me, but I can also see the appeal…I think it is a sweet little name that could conceivably fit in with some vintage girls names coming back ([name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Louise[/name]/a come to mind).
What are your thoughts on [name]Lois[/name]? [name]Will[/name] she make a comeback, or will she be stuck with [name]Gertrude[/name], [name]Ethel[/name] and the like?
Its my grandmothers name too. [name]Lois[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] actually. It seems more appealing to me lately. i wouldn’t be surprised if itcame back eventually
I am with you in that is more appealing to me lately. I never considered it when I had my daughters, but I kind of wish I did…at least for a middle.
I could see [name]Lois[/name] making a comeback, especially with the popularity of all the other l names. It has a much nicer sound than [name]Gertrude[/name] or [name]Bertha[/name], etc.
My grandmother was a [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Lois[/name] and on the other side I have multiple aunt Loises.
I honestly can’t imagine preferring [name]Lois[/name] to most other L names out there. I am not a huge fan of [name]Louise[/name]/[name]Louisa[/name] but its better than [name]Lois[/name]. For vintage L’s, I vastly prefer [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Lena[/name], [name]Lana[/name], or [name]Leora[/name]. Perkier, I like [name]Laurel[/name] and [name]Lily[/name].
I loved my grandmom. I like many L names. I do really like [name]Iris[/name], which is old lady as all heck. But [name]Lois[/name]? Not sure why, but no.
Mine as well. [name]Lois[/name] L, I can’t recall her middle I’ll have to ask my uncle. Wait…[name]Lorraine[/name]. [name]Lois[/name] [name]Lorraine[/name] I believe.
I’m not really a fan of it, but I can see it being used. I’d rather use [name]Eloise[/name] as an honoring name.
I cannot wait for [name]Lois[/name] to come back! I think it’s far more appealing than say [name]Eloise[/name] or [name]Louise[/name].
I don’t like it but come to think of it my [name]Nana[/name] was [name]Beverly[/name] [name]Lois[/name]… I think it will make you a comeback
[name]Lois[/name] has the whole [name]Lois[/name] [name]Lane[/name] thing going for her. Honestly it sounds hopelessly old-fashioned to me, but so does [name]Louise[/name] and that’s coming back.
I like [name]Lois[/name] and know one who is 5 years old. I was happy to hear it used. Her mother admitted she was nearly a Maiden/mayden as it was trendy.
My middle names are [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] so before having kids I wanted to have a daughter called [name]Lois[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
I really like [name]Lois[/name], I think the ends in -is names ([name]Mavis[/name], [name]Avis[/name], [name]Agnes[/name] etc) will be part of the next wave of “old lady” names to come back into fashion. Similar [name]Iris[/name] is already trending.
I love it. Great, under-used, Biblical. My hubby didn’t like the [name]Lois[/name] [name]Lane[/name] connection, but as a reporter myself, I love it.
So sad he vetoed
[name]Lois[/name] was my great-grandmother’s name and my aunt’s name, so I’ve always had a soft spot for it. I think it’s very deserving of a comeback. It has a very pleasant sound and ‘L’ names are popular now. I also like that it’s simple and easy to spell/pronounce. I don’t see why it wouldn’t make a comeback!
I’m not a fan, I can’t see it on a small child. I do like the look of the name.
I have adored the name [name]Lois[/name] for so long, who wouldn’t want to have [name]Lois[/name] [name]Lane[/name] as a namesake? It’s a due for a definite comeback in my mind and the nn Lo is super cute
I like it a lot and would happily use it. Partner isn’t so keen though, due to the [name]Lois[/name] [name]Griffin[/name] and [name]Lois[/name] from [name]Malcolm[/name] in the Middle associations which is a shame. I think those two factors might hinder its rise. But it does have the right sounds and is really short and snappy and lovely.
All I see is [name]Lois[/name] from Family [name]Guy[/name], which is a shame because there’s not much in this world that I hate more than that miserable excuse for a show.
It’s not my style, but I don’t think it’s terrible.
I love [name]Lois[/name], it’s super cute. I generally like -is names though, [name]Avis[/name], [name]Maris[/name], [name]Iris[/name] etc. And how cool is [name]Lois[/name] [name]Lane[/name]?
[name]Lois[/name] is too “Family [name]Guy[/name]” imo.
I agree. It’s ready for a comeback. There are so many cool [name]Lois[/name] characters (e.g. [name]Lois[/name] [name]Lane[/name]). I’m surprised this name isn’t increasing in popularity.
