Lola Wren, Lola Rue or Lola Chiara

Hello berries

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in [name_f]September[/name_f] – we are very excited and looking forward to a surprise, as we have chosen not to find out the gender.

We think we are pretty settled on a girl’s name – it will be [name_f]Lola[/name_f], with either [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] or [name_u]Rue[/name_u] as a middle name (what do you think??) – but are having a minor disagreement when it comes to a boy’s name!

My favourites are [name_u]Gus[/name_u], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but hubby will only come at [name_m]Henry[/name_m] – and it’s not his favourite. He is very settled on [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but I find it a bit common and also, I have a cousin named [name_m]Jack[/name_m].

We seem to like quite traditional boy names – nothing like [name_m]Thierry[/name_m] or [name_u]Riley[/name_u] – and just wondering if anyone out there can help us break our stalemate!

[name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] is adorable!! That gets my vote. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is runner up though

For boy ideas how about
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]
[name_m]Damian[/name_m]
[name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Warren[/name_m]
[name_m]Scott[/name_m]
[name_m]Heath[/name_m]

[name_m]Harry[/name_m] seems to be an in between for [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m], it’s casual but has a bit of the grandeur of [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Maybe [name_m]Archer[/name_m] as well. I like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u].

I was just thinking of [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], haha! Obviously my favorite is [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], but [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] is a very close second. As for boy names, how about

[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_u]Chase[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan/name_m
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
I also like the previous poster’s suggestions of [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], and [name_m]Damian[/name_m]

Thank you! I love [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u]. The suggestion of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] as a lovely mid-point for [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] might just work too!

Tough call! I think they’re all really cute. I think I’d personally go with [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] since that’s a bit more my style, but [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is really lovely. (I don’t usually choose combos with [name_u]Wren[/name_u], but it sounds just perfect with [name_f]Lola[/name_f]!) [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] is nice too, but I personally think you should go with [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Chiara[/name_f], depending on which one fits her best.

For boys, I like both [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but I lean more toward [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I think it feels sweeter. I imagine [name_m]Henry[/name_m] to be kind, intelligent, and curious.

I like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u].

I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] more than [name_m]Jack[/name_m].

[name_m]Joel[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u], or [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] could be nice alternatives to [name_m]Jack[/name_m]? [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] called [name_m]Jake[/name_m] is at least not your cousin’s name, and also these are very traditional names. I also like [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] - [name_m]Jon[/name_m]/[name_m]Jonny[/name_m] feel approachable and warm but much less used these days than [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. Another option, if you like the crisp sound and -k ending, would be [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]?

I do love [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is growing on me, but just [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is nice as well. What about [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], or [name_m]Heath[/name_m]?

[name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] is lovely. I like the previous poster’s suggestion of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] for you.

I really like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] and would go for it if you’re settled on one of the three, but I would personally go with a non-R starting middle just because it doesn’t run on as easily and it makes me (anyway) swallow [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. Def start mn with a consonant though for some reason [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] (maybe something in its speed or syllables) that again seems to compete with [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. I would go for something like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] Temperley or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_m]Soren[/name_m]. Longer and slower and easier letter than R!

Looking at the three middle name options, I think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], hands down. They just sound like they belong together, and I love the link to nature you get with [name_u]Wren[/name_u].

[name_u]Rue[/name_u] is cute, but I just think road, and would always think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] Road.

With [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Chiara[/name_f], the repeated “a” sounds at the ends would bother me.

[name_m]Caiden[/name_m]
[name_m]Colton[/name_m]/[name_m]Colten[/name_m]
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m]
[name_m]Tristian[/name_m]
[name_m]Jake[/name_m]

[name_m]Caiden[/name_m]
[name_m]Colton[/name_m]/[name_m]Colten[/name_m]
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m]
[name_m]Tristian[/name_m]
[name_m]Jake[/name_m]
Jenner

I like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u].

For boys:

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]Max[/name_u]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]

Thanks so much everyone, this has been a big help
