I’m beginning to separate my name loves for girls into categories - usable loves ([name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_u]Addison[/name_u], etc.) and guilty pleasures ([name_u]Remington[/name_u], Lexington, [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], [name_u]Navy[/name_u], [name_m]Brantley[/name_m], [name_m]Foster[/name_m], etc.). There’s a select few I’m between, but I’m really only questioning the one choice - [name_f]Lola[/name_f].
I know the name [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is a top 50 choice in the UK and top 300 in the US, however, living in [name_f]Canada[/name_f], there’s no statistical data beyond the top 100, so I have no idea if the name is even used here, technically speaking.
What do you think of [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a name on its own? I dislike most long forms, and the only one I do love ([name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]), is completely and totally 100% OFF the table for me, so I am only open to the idea of [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a standalone choice.
Also, what middle names would you pair with [name_f]Lola[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is more than usable as a full first name. A coworker’s daughter just named her daughter [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. Saying that, I am a [name_u]Brit[/name_u], and this name has been used for years here, but it’s so lovely and obviously there’s a reason it is popular (maybe not so in [name_f]Canada[/name_f]).
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a favourite, but it is such an overused combo here. There’s also the typical [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I also think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_u]Navy[/name_u] is very cute. Maybe try one of your GP names as a middle?
[name_f]Lola[/name_f] was my favorite name when I was little. I don’t really like it now, but it is cute. I also don’t know anybody named [name_f]Lola[/name_f], but I do believe that it is usable in [name_f]Canada[/name_f]. A few middle names I would pair with it are [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f], or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is fine in its own. I think it’s a very cute and pretty name.
I can’t speak for other countries, but I think people in the UK would be more confused by [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] than [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a full name, if that makes sense.
I like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] a lot. Though not my favourite L name (I prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f]), i find its very sassy and pretty. Definitely usable on its own.
