Long for Lola?

I know that traditionally [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is short for [name_f]Dolores[/name_f], or a stand alone. I’ve also heard it seen as short for [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I’m still just brainstorming and I’d love the extra brain power. Thanks ahead of time.

[name_f]Melody[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f].

I’ve heard of [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. It could also be short for [name_f]Carlotta[/name_f], Amelot, [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] could work at a stretch too, even though the “lo” makes a different sound.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Lourdes[/name_f] would be good longer forms of the name.

The only ones I don’t see here yet are:
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] (a bit softer sounding than [name_f]Louise[/name_f])
[name_f]Finola[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]

Having said that [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] anf [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are my favorite formal names for the nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f].

If you like [name_f]Lola[/name_f], use [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. Sometimes the nicknames you think you’ll use never actually happen. My parent’s names my sister with the initials C.C. because they wanted to nickname her [name_f]CeCe[/name_f], but that never stuck. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is a beautiful name, but the nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nola[/name_f] work in addition to [name_f]Lola[/name_f] for that.

I have a friend named [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f], that goes by [name_f]Lola[/name_f].

I know an [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] and a [name_f]Paola[/name_f] who go by [name_f]Lola[/name_f]

[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] could work too.

I like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a standalone. But, I’ve also always loved [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. I also love the suggestion of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. On Gossip Girl that was a character named [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] that went by [name_f]Lola[/name_f].
