I’ve always loved the nickname [name_f]Millie[/name_f], (much to my sister’s dismay, LOL), and I’d like to use it, but, I don’t know about using it on it’s own, simply because I don’t like it as anything but a nickname, and, I prefer [name_f]Mia[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], but I’m not sure on it (in the past it always got a lot of negativity) and [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] is definitely 100% without a doubt NOT happening ever for me.
So, that being said, what are other ways to get to the nickname [name_f]Millie[/name_f]? Or, is [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] ok to use?
I don’t hate [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]. It’s kinda cute actually.
I like [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] despite hating [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I like flowers a lot though.
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f] is pretty but very obscure.
[name_f]Milana[/name_f] isn’t really my thing but it’s a legit option and not a huge stretch.
I have to admit, [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]'s likely going to fit into my style the best. [name_f]Camellia[/name_f]'s pretty, but not really my style, [name_f]Melusine[/name_f]'s definitely not me, and [name_f]Milana[/name_f]/[name_f]Melina[/name_f] are ok, but I don’t see myself using them.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f]'s kind of cute though, I might warm up to that [name_f]Melinda[/name_f]'s out though. I have an, erm…evil relative/ex relative named [name_f]Belinda[/name_f], so yeah, anything with a linda on the end’s out
I love the nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f] too. I was asking myself the same question a few days ago and read through a bunch of old threads. I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f], but you like [name_f]Mia[/name_f] better. I also like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. Personally, I dislike [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] a lot. It sounds really old to me and reminds me of Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Though I think I would like to meet a [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], I just wouldn’t use it myself. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] nn [name_f]Milly[/name_f]. I agree that [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] is not happening, so dreary sounding. You could do [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f], but why when you could have [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]/[name_f]Tillie[/name_f]?
Some others that weren’t suggested:
Melanthe (mel-anth-EE) nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marini[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marilla[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
Honestly, I see nothing wrong with using [name_f]Millie[/name_f] on its own… But my favorite long names for [name_f]Millie[/name_f] are [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], really not a fan of [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]. When I started university a few years ago there were three girls named [name_f]Millie[/name_f] in a class i took - [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]! Funnily enough, they each encapsulated how I imagine those three names - [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] was cute and quirky, [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] was very glamorous and independent, and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] was rather awkward and shy.
