I’m trying to sell DH on [name]Tess[/name] or [name]Tessa[/name] for our future daughter, as it’s a diminutive version of [name]Theresa[/name] just like my mum’s full name, [name]Terri[/name]. He doesn’t feel that [name]Tess/name is “complete”, and neither of us like [name]Theresa[/name] as a full name. The only other name I can come up with as a longer version is Contessa, but that’s a little extreme for both of us.
Can anyone come up with a longer version of [name]Tess/name that’s a happy medium between [name]Theresa[/name] and Contessa?
[name]Thessaly[/name]/Thessalia?
[name]Thalassa[/name]?
[name]Theodosia[/name], Tesla, Tesni, Tenacity, [name]Tacita[/name], Telephassa, [name]Theresia[/name], Tisiphone, [name]Tamsin[/name], [name]Thomasina[/name], Terpsichore?
I guess [name]Temperance[/name] would work at a stretch. Same with [name]Natasha[/name], [name]Anastasia[/name], [name]Patricia[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name]…
[name]Quintessa[/name].
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is [name]Taliesin[/name].
You could also do any T first name with a middle with an “ess” sound: [name]Esme[/name], [name]Carys[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Estella[/name], [name]Agnes[/name], [name]Dolores[/name], [name]Celeste[/name]…or even [name]Elizabeth[/name]; I grew up with an [name]Elizabeth[/name] who went by [name]Essy[/name].
I think just [name]Tess[/name] is lovely too.
