Longer name ideas for Della?

Normally I don’t pick a nickname and try to find a long name for it, but I just love [name_f]Della[/name_f]. But unlike my other favourite names it can’t really be nicknamed any further and I wouldn’t want to have one kid without a short nickname and everyone else with options if that makes sense. All my other favourite names have a long option (normally no more than 3 syllables) and at least 1 or 2 short or nick-namey options.

My favourite [name_f]Della[/name_f] name is [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], however I fear by the time I have a daughter it will be far too common for my liking (I am one of those hipsters that steers far clear from the top 100 lol  ) .

I know [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is an option, but it doesn’t really fit with my other favourite names, and while it’s pretty it does make me think of Dolphin a bit too much.

I’ve also considered [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] although both are maybe a touch too flowery for my tastes, though they aren’t off the table. [name_f]Adella[/name_f] and [name_f]Delia[/name_f] are also lovely, but are too close to [name_f]Della[/name_f] for it to really be considered a nickname rather than just lazily chopping off a syllable. Of course there is [name_f]Adele[/name_f], but it’s too tied to the singer for me at this point.

I would love any out of the box suggestions! Thank you

I love [name_f]Della[/name_f] on her own and think she would be fierce as a first name.

I really love [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] and even [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] could work.

I love the nickname [name_f]Della[/name_f], and had [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] nn [name_f]Della[/name_f] on my list for the longest time. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is lovely as well, but I see where you’re coming from. Maybe [name_f]Adelina[/name_f], [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]?

Thank you for your suggestions everyone! Definitely given me some more options to think about. I think [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is actually growing on me a bit. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is also lovely but I’m too familiar with the city of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and can’t break that connection and I’m not a fan of city names. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is pretty as well but again, I have negative connotations to it that I find hard to break.

I do love the idea of just [name_f]Della[/name_f], but our last name begins with “[name_f]Ell[/name_f]” and I feel maybe as a given name it would be too tongue twisty and that it needs a solid full name for forms and such. It’s the same reason I can’t really go with names that end in “[name_f]Ell[/name_f]” in general. sigh
