Longer names for nn Liza

OK - I LOVE the name Liza (LIE-ZUH). I realize this can be a name by itself, but wanting a longer full name, for which LIZA will be her nickname.

I know the obvious is Elizabeth, but looking for others!!! Bonus if they are Jewish/Hebrew - or - have German/Austrian ties (she has an Austrian citizenship). Her sister is Eliora (Hebrew for "G-d is my light) and we call her Ellie. HELP!

It’s pronounced with the “lee” sound rather than “lye”but maybe the Hebrew name [name_f]Aliza[/name_f]? It means “joyful” which is lovely. And I think you could still pronounce the nickname like lye-zuh even if you pronounce the full name differently.

[name_f]Aliza[/name_f] would be the best bet, IMO, as it’s Hebrew and goes well with [name_f]Eliora[/name_f]. It’s pronounced ah-LEE-zah and not with a LIE sound, but I don’t think that would be a problem - [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] doesn’t have a LIE sound either

Yes - this is one of my favorite names (was on our top list for our first daughter). [name_f]Gorgeous[/name_f] and love the meaning. I guess for some reason I didn’t think that I could pronounce the nickname different… but someone else makes a good point that [name_f]Liza[/name_f] is a NN for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] even though has a totally different vowel sound. Thanks!

Don’t know what I was being so rigid.

[name_f]Annaliese[/name_f] is one of my favorite [name_m]German[/name_m] names… I do think [name_f]Liza[/name_f] could go with this one - thanks! [name_f]Luiza[/name_f] is also very pretty.

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is one of my favorite names, but as our first is [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] (Ellie), they are just too similar. Sometimes its a hard choice when you pick a name and know that it’ll make others a no-go!
