While I still prefer [name]Beau[/name] for a boy, I’m intrigued by the nn [name]Bo[/name] for a girl. Any ideas on longer, preferably feminine names that might get me there?
[name]How[/name] about [name]Boheme[/name]? I’m in love with that name.
[name]Boheme[/name] was also my first thought.
I’ll try and think of others!
[name]How[/name] is [name]Boheme[/name] pronounced? [name]Bo[/name]-hem?
No, I believe it’s bo-[name]EM[/name], like the opera
What about [name]Isabeau[/name] (is-ah-bo)? That was my first thought, but I think [name]Bryony[/name] could work, too. I think anything with the letters “B” and “O” could work, ideally–[name]Brooke[/name], [name]Bronte[/name], [name]Bronwen[/name], etc., too. Or you could even do something like [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Olivia[/name], nn [name]Bo[/name]…
[name]Boheme[/name] is a great name! Also I had a friend growing up named [name]Beauvais[/name] (bo-vay)- even though it’s traditionally a man’s name, she wore it wonderfully.
I think [name]Isabeau[/name] is a great option!
I once met a girl named [name]Beau[/name]… She was a beautiful, down to earth, kind of hippyish blonde! It suited her perfectly! and it wasnt short for anything!
I don’t know how “out there” this suggestion will be, but what about Borealis?
[name]Isabeau[/name]
[name]Mirabeau[/name] (my pick)
[name]Garbo[/name] (in Australia this is slang for a garbage collector, but maybe it works for you)
[name]Mirabeau[/name] is a boys name, not sure if they matters to you or not when considering names for girls.
Corbeau (means raven)
[name]Bonnie[/name]
[name]Abony[/name]
My maiden name is [name]Boston[/name]. I have thought from time to time about naming a boy [name]Boston[/name] and calling him “[name]Bo[/name]”
It comes up as a girl’s name on Nameberry…
love [name]Bo[/name]…like [name]Bo[/name] [name]Derek[/name] so cool.
I can’t think of any that haven’t already been mentioned but these are great!
I
I know, I put a note in the famous people named [name]Mirabeau[/name] section. I’m not sure why but I hàve noticed some mistakes with quite a few French names or names that are listed as French but aren’t (though sometimes I’m wrong about this). In French it’s really more of a surname there is also a marquis de [name]Mirabeau[/name] and Comte de [name]Mirabeau[/name]. It has occasionally been used for boys. [name]Mirabeau[/name] B [name]Lamar[/name] was the second president of the Republic of [name]Texas[/name] Honoré Gabriel Riquetti, comte de Mirabeau and his father Victor Riqueti, marquis de Mirabeau are probably the most famous Mirabeaus.
[name]Ebony[/name]? [name]Garbo[/name]?
I really love the ideas of [name]Boheme[/name] and [name]Isabeau[/name] especially. Thanks guys!
