As the title says, that’s what we’re looking for in a boy’s name, but we just can’t find one we love, like we did with [name]Nico[/name]'s name.
Ones we’ve considered but are not 100% on are:
[name]Reuben[/name] nn [name]Benno[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] nn Sebby
[name]Theodore[/name] nn [name]Theo[/name] or [name]Teddy[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name] nn [name]Nate[/name]
Middle name will be [name]Gregory[/name], and surname will be two syllables, J____son.
Hoping this one will be a girl in that we’ve got a top three girl names already sorted (see my signature). If it’s a boy it looks like he’ll have a middle and no first at this rate.
I love [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Gregory[/name], nn [name]Theo[/name]/[name]Teddy[/name]! I like all of your name options, actually.
Have you considered [name]Gregory[/name] as a fn? [name]Grey[/name] or [name]Rory[/name] would be great quirky nn replacements for the usual [name]Greg[/name].
[name]Gregory[/name]'s a name we’re using to honour a relative on OH’s side, it would mean two [name]Gregory[/name] J___sons which I don’t want if we used it as a first, so we’re keeping it middle only.
I like [name]Jeremy[/name] but not sure if [name]Jeremy[/name] J___son sounds a bit cartooney, so I’ve taken it off. I like [name]Zeke[/name], but is Ezekial overly religious? We’re not really that religious at all (son is baptised but we don’t go to church except at [name]Christmas[/name]) so would it seem odd? [name]Oliver[/name]'s nice but a friend has a son by that name and also it’s mega-popular where I am. I also like [name]Frederick[/name] nn [name]Freddie[/name].
I was actually going to suggest [name]Nathaniel[/name]! I really like [name]Theodore[/name] with [name]Dominic[/name]/[name]Nico[/name], too!! Other ideas:
[name]Charles[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Arlo[/name] (I know [name]Charles[/name] isn’t so long, but [name]Arlo[/name] is so sweet with [name]Nico[/name]!)
[name]Hamilton[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Milo[/name], Hammy
[name]Bartholomew[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn Tolly (too long?)
[name]Tolliver[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn Tolly
[name]Raphael[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Rafe[/name]
[name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Thad[/name], [name]Tad[/name], [name]Teo[/name] [[name]Tay[/name]-o]
Maccallister [name]Gregory[/name], Macadam [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Mac[/name]
[name]Marshall[/name] [name]Gregory[/name], [name]Marston[/name] [name]Gregory[/name], [name]Marsden[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Mars[/name]
[name]Barrett[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Bear[/name] or [name]Rhett[/name]
[name]Matthias[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Matt[/name], [name]Theo[/name]/[name]Teo[/name] (depending on pronunciation)
[name]Lawrence[/name]/[name]Laurence[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Law[/name], [name]Ren[/name], [name]Lorne[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Lio[/name] [like [name]Leo[/name]?]
[name]Alistair[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Ali[/name], [name]Ace[/name]
Loving [name]Augustine[/name] nn Auggie, [name]Hamilton[/name] nn [name]Milo[/name], and [name]Thaddeus[/name] nn [name]Teo[/name] ([name]Tay[/name]-o)!
Am I saying Auggie wrong, because to me it sounds like Orgy and that’s not a nice name to have at all. I like [name]Matthias[/name], [name]Raphael[/name], [name]Dexter[/name] and [name]Alistair[/name] a lot though.
I like all the names on your list-- [name]Reuben[/name] nn [name]Benno[/name] stands out though as the best with [name]Dominic[/name] nn [name]Nico[/name].
Not coming up with anything new, but I like the previous suggestions of [name]Abraham[/name] ([name]Abe[/name]), [name]Ezekiel[/name] ([name]Zeke[/name]), and [name]Phillip[/name] ([name]Flip[/name]).
I really like [name]Reuben[/name] nn [name]Benno[/name] or [name]Cassius[/name] nn [name]Cash[/name]!
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Donovan[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Don[/name] or [name]Donny[/name] or [name]Van[/name]
[name]Marlon[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Arlo[/name]
From you list I definitely prefer [name]Theodore[/name] NN [name]Theo[/name] or [name]Teddy[/name]. But I really really like the suggestions of [name]Rafael[/name] (NN maybe Raf/[name]Raffi[/name]) and [name]Cassius[/name] (NN [name]Cash[/name] or [name]Cas[/name]), especially when paired up with [name]Dominic[/name] (NN [name]Nico[/name]).
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Evander[/name] (NN [name]Van[/name] or [name]Ander[/name])
[name]Everett[/name] (NN [name]Rhett[/name])
[name]Augustus[/name]/[name]Augustine[/name] (NN [name]Gus[/name] or Auggie)
[name]Soloman[/name] (NN [name]Sol[/name]/[name]Saul[/name])
[name]Osias[/name]/[name]Ozias[/name] (NN [name]Oz[/name] or [name]Si[/name])
[name]Darius[/name] (NN Dare)
[name]Lionel[/name] (NN [name]Leo[/name])
Of the ones you mention, I like [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] a lot. I prefer different nns than Sebby and [name]Nate[/name], however. Have you thought of using Sabe (rhymes with [name]Gabe[/name]) and [name]Nat[/name] instead?
Others I like:
[name]Abraham[/name] nn [name]Bram[/name]
[name]Philip[/name] nn [name]Pip[/name]
[name]Sylvester[/name] nn [name]Sly[/name]
[name]Joseph[/name] nn Sepp
[name]August[/name] nn [name]Gus[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name] nn [name]Gabe[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name] nn [name]Kip[/name]
[name]Benedict[/name] nn [name]Ben[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name] nn [name]Nate[/name] is one of my faves. It doesn’t seem as spunky as [name]Dominic[/name] nn [name]Nico[/name] though.
Sorry if I repeat any.
Suggestions:
[name]Benjamin[/name] nn [name]Benny[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] nn [name]Vinnie[/name]
[name]Ivan[/name] nn [name]Van[/name]
[name]Osmond[/name] or [name]Osias[/name]/[name]Ozias[/name] nn [name]Ozzie[/name]/[name]Ozzy[/name] or [name]Oz[/name]
[name]Orion[/name] nn [name]Ry[/name]
[name]Cyrus[/name] nn [name]Cy[/name]
[name]Sidney[/name] nn [name]Sid[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name], [name]Lucius[/name], [name]Lucas[/name] nn [name]Luke[/name] or [name]Lucky[/name]
I’m going to repeat the suggest of [name]Ephraim[/name] but with the nn [name]Free[/name]. It’s a super sweet name. You could also spell [name]Ephraim[/name] like [name]Efrem[/name].
[name]How[/name] about…
[name]Finnian[/name]/[name]Finnigan[/name] - [name]Finn[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name] - [name]Griff[/name]
[name]Malaki[/name] (ma-la-kye) - [name]Mal[/name]
[name]Valerian[/name] - [name]Vail[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name] - [name]Freddie[/name]
[name]Xander[/name] - [name]Andy[/name]
But my favourite is still [name]Ephraim[/name] nn [name]Free[/name]. [name]Dominic[/name] and [name]Ephraim[/name], [name]Nico[/name] and [name]Free[/name]. Works well!
