My husband and I will be adopting a newborn baby girl next month, and we have yet to find a name we feel is perfect. The baby’s biological family is Jewish so we have decided to honor that by using [name]Esther[/name] as her middle name. Now we are looking for a first name that flows well with [name]Esther[/name]. Our last name begins with M and is four syllables. We both love the sound of [name]Celia[/name], but my husband is a doctor and can’t get past the cilia connection. Some other names we’ve considered but don’t love are [name]Alice[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], and [name]Lucia[/name]. I guess we really like the soft C sound.
With all that said, can anyone suggest some names we would love and that would go well with [name]Esther[/name] as a middle name? All help is appreciated. Thanks!
[name]How[/name] wonderful that you will be welcoming a new baby and how thoughtful to include her heritage in her name. I love [name]Esther[/name] and think we can come up with some great names for you.
I love [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Esther[/name]! Normally I’m a huge [name]Alice[/name] fan, but [name]Alice[/name] [name]Esther[/name] is really hard to say. Other ideas:
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Oleanna[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Willow[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Helena[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
Congrats on your adoption! It’s wonderful that you are honouring your daughter’s Jewish heritage by choosing [name]Esther[/name] for a middle name. I love the names [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] but they’re not the best combinations with [name]Esther[/name] (tongue twisters). [name]Lucia[/name] [name]Esther[/name] is probably a better pairing than [name]Alice[/name] especially if you pronounce it the Italian way (Loo-CHEE-ah). [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Esther[/name] is just a tad “old lady” to me. When I was a child, I knew a woman who had a sister called [name]Patience[/name] [name]Esther[/name] which I thought was pretty cool at the time! Since your husband is in the medical field, I guess this name would remind him of his “patients”. Ha! Here are some suggestions.
