[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!
I’m currently expecting my first and we’re still searching for the perfect boy’s names, but one of our top contenders is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. It’s a family name so I’d like to pair it with a more interesting/less popular middle name.
DH is asking that it’s not “too obscure”, sounds strong, and isn’t a “word name”. Our last name sounds like L@ne.
I’d love some [name_u]Berry[/name_u] inspiration!
So far I’ve come up with:
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Orion[/name_u]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]
I absolutely love [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]. It’s so handsome and distinguished! My favorite thing about the name [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is the fact that you can pair it with almost anything.
More like [name_u]Orion[/name_u]:
[name_m]Philo[/name_m]
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m]

[name_m]Cian[/name_m]
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]

I like all of these:
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Orion[/name_u]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
Some other ideas:
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u]
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u]
[name_m]Malachy[/name_m]
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m]
[name_u]Oberon[/name_u]/[name_u]Auberon[/name_u]
[name_m]Rainier[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Odin[/name_m]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
I like many of Emsky’s three syllable ideas. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is one of my favorites and is an overlooked handsome classic, I think, but with a two syllable first and a one syllable last, a three syllable middle would be ideal. But I think your husband needs to weigh in on what he means by “not to obscure” and “strong” – [name_m]How[/name_m] does he feel about [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m], for instance??
These are great so far!
I’m really loving:
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
[name_u]Oberon[/name_u]/[name_u]Auberon[/name_u]
[name_m]Rainier[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]
[name_m]Conall[/name_m]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]…although I guess I’d have a [name_m]Tom[/name_m] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] : )
[name_f]Pam[/name_f], I’m not too sure what he means, and I’m still trying to figure it out!
I’ve proposed names like [name_m]Ingo[/name_m], which received the “obscure” comment, perhaps because it’s a name he’s never heard of it before. [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] are definitely names that he’s seen and heard before, so they wouldn’t be too obscure.
As for “strong” names, he thinks a name like [name_u]Remy[/name_u] had a softer, gentler sound that wasn’t his style, compared to a name like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] which for him has a more masculine sound and imagery that he liked. I love seeing what other Berries mention as “strong sounding” names, because it’s different for everyone!
