Looking for name that works in English, German AND Spanish ?:-)

[name]Hi[/name] ladies! I’m new here

I am looking for a girl’s name that is pronounced the same way in English, [name]German[/name] and Spanish. [name]Reason[/name] being that I am [name]German[/name], my husband is Chilean and we live in an English-speaking country.

I am not too fussy about origin etc, so long as the name sounds the same in all three languages, so that all family members can pronounce it fine. For example: “[name]Daniel[/name]” although common in all three languages, is pronounced differently. Whereas “[name]Finn[/name]” is pronounced exactly the same in all three languages.

For a boy we picked [name]Vincent[/name]. But still need a girl’s name in case baby is a girl

Thanks for any suggestions!

What about [name]Alida[/name]?

I’m from Luxembourg, so I selected names that were the same in [name]German[/name] and English. I don’t know the Spanish pronunciation of these names. Sorry.

[name]Antonia[/name]
[name]Bella[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name] (although perhaps I wouldn’t use this name: Klo-e)
[name]Emily[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Frida[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] (close)
[name]Leonie[/name] (close)
[name]Maria[/name] / [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]

[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Lina[/name]
[name]Lana[/name]
[name]Lara[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Adrianna[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Alexa[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Dalia[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Maya[/name]
[name]Amalia[/name]

I just wanted to say that I actually have a name that’s very international, but pronounced somewhat differently in various languages - similar to your [name]Daniel[/name] example. I personally love hearing my name pronounced differently depending upon where I am. I enjoy saying my own name differently when I speak French and love the way my name sounds when I’m speaking to my family in The Netherlands. I know that’s not your question, but I just wanted to throw it out there!

[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Noemi[/name]
[name]Reina[/name]
[name]Lina[/name]
[name]Lita[/name]
[name]Bella[/name]

The only thought I had was [name]Eva[/name]. While the AY-vah or EH-vah (or somewhere in between–it’s hard to write the actual pronunciation) isn’t as popular as EE-vah in English speaking countries, it’s still accepted, and I think it’s a gorgeous, international name. Hopefully some of the other Berries will be a bit more helpful than me.

Thank you all for your replies! I’m not sure if THE name was among the suggestions yet, but still appreciate your thoughts.

I quite like [name]Lara[/name], [name]Alexa[/name], [name]Maya[/name] (was on my list already), [name]Lina[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]. Someone mentioned [name]Quinn[/name], which is cute as this was a runner up for the boy’s name  Not sure for a girl though, it sounds male to me. Some of the other suggestions are out because [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Hannah[/name] and a couple of others are already in the family

Never thought picking a name for your child would be so complicated!

@raptreverie My first name always gets pronounced differently. The first few years abroad I didn’t mind but then I kind of thought that that wasn’t the name my parents gave me. So now I correct people. My maiden name ALWAYS had to be spelled. A problem I fixed by marriage  I just don’t want my child to always have to spell or sound out their name to strangers.
