Looking for names that combine Leah and Michael

Hey Berries,
We have four weeks left to agree on a name for our delivery surprise. My husband likes names that have elements of each of our names in them. We have Maylia for a girl which is a family name and we haven’t found anything for a boy yet. He likes [name]Milo[/name] because it has the M from [name]Michael[/name] and there is the L for [name]Leah[/name]. Are there any other names you can suggest that share similar qualities or other names that have sounds from our names? I’m not sold on [name]Milo[/name] because I like more unusual names, but my husband has fallen hard for it.
Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

[name]How[/name] about [name]Lionel[/name], [name]Marcelo[/name], or [name]Malachi[/name]?

I think [name]Clement[/name] or [name]Ptolemy[/name] would be really nice. Others could be:
Lemy
[name]Micah[/name]
[name]Maximilian[/name]
[name]Emile[/name]
Filemon
[name]Galilee[/name]
[name]Gilles[/name]
[name]Miguel[/name]
[name]McKinley[/name]
[name]Melville[/name]
[name]Milton[/name]
[name]Milos[/name]
[name]Milford[/name]
[name]Eamon[/name]
[name]Seamus[/name]
[name]Rafael[/name]

Have you thought about [name]Micah[/name] [name]Leo[/name]/[name]Micah[/name] [name]Leopold[/name] or something like that? [name]Micah[/name] for [name]Michael[/name], and [name]Leo/name for [name]Leah[/name]? [name]Micah[/name] isn’t actually all that uncommon, though…

I can’t really think of another way to combine them, besides what everyone else has already suggested. Maybe [name]Miller[/name]?

Good luck!

[name]Malachi[/name] was the first name I though of, it has the L sound as well as the M and ch in [name]Michael[/name]. [name]Miller[/name] is nice too but kind of reminds me of [name]Mila[/name], the popular girls name.

What about [name]Miles[/name] and your hubby could call him [name]Milo[/name]?

Have you noticed that if you spell [name]Michael[/name] backwards you get [name]LEAH[/name] cim, in other words [name]Leah[/name] is already in [name]Michael[/name].

So just go with names that compliment [name]Michael[/name].

Eg [name]David[/name], [name]Jonathan[/name], [name]Luke[/name], [name]Lucas[/name], [name]Grant[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] but if you like more unusual names then

[name]Xavier[/name]
[name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Geoffrey[/name]
[name]Jonas[/name]
[name]Josiah[/name]
[name]Landon[/name] ([name]Michael[/name] [name]Landon[/name] actor)
[name]Elliott[/name]
[name]Hudson[/name]
[name]Holden[/name]
[name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Alister[/name]

I would skip [name]Micah[/name] as it’s only one muscle contraction away from [name]Michael[/name], and it would just get confusing. However, [name]Miles[/name] or [name]Milo[/name] might actually be a good choice. Interestingly enough, both names mean soldier, of which [name]Michael[/name] is the patron saint. That being said, what about going a more indirect route with meanings? [name]Michael[/name] has a broader meaning (“who is like God?”), but [name]Leah[/name] means both weary and ruler. Assuming you don’t want to name your child for the meaning “tired”, some names that mean ruler are [name]Eric[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Roderick[/name], and all their diminutives. However, [name]Walter[/name] means “ruler of the army”, which combines the ruler meaning of [name]Leah[/name] and [name]Michael[/name]'s being the patron saint of soldiers. I personally think that’s pretty neat, and [name]Walter[/name]'s quite a wonderful name! [name]How[/name] about [name]Walter[/name] [name]Milo[/name]?

WDYT of [name]Lael[/name]? Gender: M

Origin of Lael: Hebrew, “belonging to God”

Although this is an ancient Old Testament name, it has a pleasant contemporary feel that might appeal to today’s parents, who might just as easily use it for a girl.

I really like this name - just have never thought of it before!!
