I love the idea of a MN like [name]Plum[/name]…very cute. But our LN starts with P so I can’t use [name]Plum[/name] or it sounds like PlumP when u say it!
My dd name is [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Hazel[/name] Darling (2 mn) and due with another dd…
Considering [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] _____
Got any cutesy MN suggestions??? I’m wide open!!
Last name kinda sounds like “Party”.
A great one-syllable fruit name to my ear is: [name]Quince[/name].
That might be it for somewhat familiar ones. [name]Fig[/name], Grape, Lime, Pear, [name]Prune[/name], Date, [name]Orange[/name], or just Fruit don’t work as well as [name]Plum[/name] or [name]Quince[/name] to me…although you could!
[name]Clove[/name]? [name]Love[/name] that spice. Makes me think of cigarettes though.
[name]Honey[/name]? From honeydew? Goes kind of cutely with Darling, as well.
Dew? Nature name connects to honeydew.
Bean? Kind of odd, some negative associations but very cute, and not unheard of because of [name]Frances[/name] Bean, [name]Kurt[/name] Cobain’s daughter (though in turn that would be a negative assoc to some).
[name]Star[/name]? Could allude to starfruit, star apple.
This list has some less familiar ones: one-syls include Bael (bile?), [name]Nance[/name] (could work!), Neem (could work!). Plus lots past one-syllable.
I like the name [name]Ivy[/name] but feel I have to point out that her initials sans middles would be I.P. Not a deal breaker…and she will clearly have middles : D! [name]Just[/name] would not want for you to figure that out only after she’s here!
Is it the sound of “plum” that you like, or the meaning? If you have a particular penchant for plums, there are several names that could derive from the botanical name for different types of plum plants.
Most of the rest of the plum family has Prunus in the name – you could go with [name]Prudence[/name] or [name]Pru[/name]. [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Pru[/name] is cute!
I. P. makes me think of Intellectual Property and V.I.P., too. These are part of why I think it’s really not so bad. I.P. with another P in the middle might really be a lot…especially since the concern about “plump”. : D.
(edited to take out a confusing accidental double negative).
I don’t see this mentioned yet, if so, sorry for repeating-- but there’s a pretty great option to get to [name]Plum[/name]-- [name]Virginia[/name]! In [name]England[/name], [name]Virginia[/name] is a kind of plum, and there is a relatively famous author named [name]Plum[/name] Skyes whose real name is [name]Virginia[/name] Skyes
It’s actually [name]Victoria[/name], not [name]Virginia[/name], that is a type of plum and [name]Plum[/name] Sykes’s given name.
Suggestions (assuming you’re looking for a one-syllable nature/word name, and sorry for the repeats):
[name]Lark[/name]
[name]Wren[/name]
[name]Dove[/name]
[name]Neve[/name]
[name]Bay[/name]
[name]Fleur[/name]/[name]Flor[/name]
Bloom
[name]Joy[/name]
[name]Faine[/name] (means cheerful)
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Fern[/name]
[name]Lane[/name]
[name]Spring[/name]
[name]Bijou[/name] (I know this is two syllables, but it has the same spirit as [name]Plum[/name] in my mind)
