Looking for uncommon ultra feminine/girly names.

My good friend [name]Sara[/name] and her husband [name]Jude[/name] are having a girl in about 3 weeks, and don’t have a name yet. She keeps asking for name ideas, and we don’t know any more to suggest. They’ve looked at all different styles of names, and seem to be leaning more towards uncommon ultra feminine/girly names. Since we are out of ideas to throw at her, I thought I’d see what names y’all could come up with. They already have two sons named [name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Pierce[/name] ‘[name]Dash[/name]’ and Thackery [name]Flynn[/name] ‘Thack’, and her middle name will be [name]Elena[/name] (ee-lay-nuh). Thanks for all your help!!

Can you give us some examples of what “ultra-feminine” means to you/your friend? I imagine frilly names…like [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name]…or floral ones like [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Poppy[/name]…maybe even gemstone names like [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name].

[name]Isabeau[/name] [name]Elena[/name]

[name]Juliette[/name] [name]Elena[/name]

[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Elena[/name]

[name]Waverly[/name] [name]Elena[/name]

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Elena[/name]

[name]Whitney[/name] [name]Elena[/name]

The first ones that come to my mind…

[name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Thackeray[/name] huh? Cool.
With [name]Elena[/name], I think names ending in A are out, which is tricky if you’re looking for ultra-feminine names.

[name]Marian[/name] [name]Elena[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Elena[/name]
[name]Clarice[/name] [name]Elena[/name]
[name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Elena[/name]
[name]Rosen[/name] [name]Elena[/name]/ [name]Roisin[/name] [name]Elena[/name]
[name]Manon[/name] [name]Elena[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name] [name]Elena[/name]
[name]Flannery[/name] [name]Elena[/name] (Not perfect with [name]Elena[/name] but great with [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Thackeray[/name]- plus, [name]Flannery[/name] O’[name]Connor[/name].)
[name]Joyce[/name] [name]Elena[/name] ([name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Hammett[/name], [name]William[/name] [name]Thackeray[/name] and [name]James[/name] [name]Joyce[/name]!)

It’s names like [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Georgiana[/name], and [name]Evangelina[/name] that she’s said she likes, but they aren’t uncommon enough for her. [name]Jude[/name]'s brother has kids named [name]Isabel[/name] and [name]Evander[/name], so that also rules out [name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Evangelina[/name]. [name]Jude[/name] doesn’t like the name [name]George[/name], so that rules out [name]Georgiana[/name] as he doesn’t want someone to nickname her [name]George[/name].

Most of the names she’s picked out of our many lists end in ‘A’. Their ok with the name not sounding excelent with [name]Elena[/name], but do want it to sound ok with it at least. [name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Elena[/name] was a favorite of hers, but [name]Jude[/name] doesn’t like the name [name]George[/name].

[name]Primrose[/name]? [name]Eglantine[/name]? [name]Roselle[/name]? Maristela/Maristella? [name]Jonquil[/name] is a personal favorite of mine. Or maybe Seraphina?

[name]Georgiana[/name] can easily be [name]Gigi[/name]! Which is a super girly spunky fabulous nn, imo.

[name]How[/name] is [name]Jonquil[/name] pronounced? It looks very interesting and pretty, but I’m unsure about it’s pronunciation.

It’s pronounced jon-quill (like a feather quill). It’s the name of a quite cheerful-looking white/yellow flower. Because it’s a legitimate word, you should be able to hear the pronunciation from, say, dictionary.com

The name is quite uncommon, yet still very flowery and frilly.

[name]Lavender[/name], [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Marigold[/name], [name]Sybella[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Amelie[/name], Maximilia, [name]Sylvie[/name], [name]Ariadne[/name], [name]Rosemarie[/name], [name]Calla[/name], [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Florentina[/name], [name]Leonie[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Camellia[/name], [name]Delphine[/name], [name]Louella[/name]/[name]Louisiana[/name]/[name]Louanne[/name], [name]Violetta[/name], [name]Pandora[/name], [name]Azalea[/name], [name]Angelica[/name], [name]Octavia[/name], [name]Wilhelmina[/name], [name]Freya[/name]

i think of alessandra or seraphina but those dont go with elena

Might not all fit the ultra feminine feel but I think they go well with the sibset
