I love this name and think we’re choosing it for our little girl. [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] is the traditional spelling but doesn’t [name_f]Loralie[/name_f] make more sense? [name_m]Will[/name_m] people get confused with how her name is pronounced if it’s spelt [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]?
The English language is strange. Despite is being pronounced like [name_f]Loralie[/name_f] people would still probably mispronounce it! [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] are imo the best choices of the three. I lean more towards [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] however depends on what middle name you choose. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
If I saw the name [name_f]Loralie[/name_f], I would pronounce it Lor-uh-lee, rhyming with [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]. I would definitely spell it [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] or [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. I think it’s a well enough known name, at least in the US, that people won’t butcher it too much.
I’d pronounce [name_f]Loralie[/name_f] as ending in -lee as well. I’d go for the original spelling of [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], or alternatively [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f]. It’s a beautiful name btw!
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]…
Definitely [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f].
[name_f]Loralie[/name_f]: I say it [name_f]Lora[/name_f]-lee
I would spell it [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], the traditional spelling. I don’t see how people could get it wrong.
I prefer [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], but I have met a little [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] before. I’ve heard it pronounced both “[name_f]Lora[/name_f]-lee” and “[name_f]Lora[/name_f]-ly.”
I think you should go with the original [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
