Lorenzo vs. Sebastian vs. Rio

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] There,

[name_f]My[/name_f] partner and I are trying to decide on the name [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], or [name_m]Rio[/name_m] for our upcoming baby boy. [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] is on the list as well.

I have two daughters from my previous marriageTheia [name_m]Valentine[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. We would like to stick with Italian, Greek or latin names. [name_f]My[/name_f] partners last name is [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] though (super Irish).

We love [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] nn [name_m]Enzo[/name_m].
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is also gorgeous and I have always loved it but am concerned about how popular it is (we are in NZ but I am from California).

Any help so appreciated!

Kindest,

[name_f]Tiana[/name_f]

I adore [name_m]Rio[/name_m] & [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] would be a close 2nd. Both are handsome names & go lovely with your children’s names & your OH’s last name.

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is a lovely name. I don’t dislike it at all but personally would avoid it simply because of the popularity… That said I think if you’ve always loved it you may need to decided whether or not the popularity is worth losing the name; would you regret not using it? If so then I’d go for it. It may be popular but it’s not the end of the world & popularity can very much location based so it may not be too bad where you are

Personally, I like [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] the best! So many nickname opportunities and a fun sound, and flows well with your surname. [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] isn’t too similar to [name_f]Theia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], but matches their slightly unique but familiar vibe.
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is also a favorite of mine, but it is definitely climbing in popularity so it’s up to you whether you love the name enough to use it anyways.

I personally adore [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] (and I think [name_m]Rio[/name_m] could be a cute nickname!) with your girls, but I think [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] is lovely too! Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong.

[name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] and call him [name_m]Rio[/name_m] or [name_m]Lio[/name_m] / [name_m]Leo[/name_m].

[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_m]Rio[/name_m] are charming - I like the elegance of [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and the sparkle of [name_m]Rio[/name_m].

[name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] is great too - [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] ā€˜Rio’?

I think I’d go with that, or [name_m]Rio[/name_m]

From your list, I think I like [name_m]Rio[/name_m] best with your girls’ names! And my second favourite would be [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]. Both are really fun and handsome!

Although - if just [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] was an option, that would be by far my winner, because it’s such a cool name that would work so wonderfully with [name_f]Theia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]!

If you both love [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] nn [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], I think it may be ā€œthe oneā€ for your baby! It’s a great name. [name_f]An[/name_f] Italian charming choice that is easy to use in multiple languages.

I also really like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. It’s a classic. A very handsome and gentle choice. I wouldn’t let popularity affect your choice. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is traditional, timeless. Both [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] are popular in different places of the world. However, I don’t think they feel overused or extremely popular. As a bonus, the two options offer multiple fun nicknames to work with.

Personally, [name_m]Rio[/name_m] is my favorite name on your list. It means river in my language (Portuguese) and Spanish. I love nature themed names. I believe it creates a wonderful sibset with The!a and Luci@. [name_m]Rio[/name_m] Cass”dy sounds amazing as well.

I’m not a fan of [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m], but it has a great meaning. [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] ā€œRioā€ could be a good compromise. That’s a really nice suggestion from previous posters.
