Lorrin: a male version of Lauren?

There was an old (in his 60s) British professor named this on TV today and I thought maybe it’s like a male version of [name]Lauren[/name] or something. I really like it! [name]Lorrin[/name] actually kind of reminds me of [name]Soren[/name], but obviously [name]Lorrin[/name] isn’t a new name unless his parents made it up. What do you think about it? Is [name]Lorrin[/name] too farfetched? Is it better as a mn?

I have a friend [name]Lorenzo[/name] who goes by [name]Loren[/name]. I’d say that’d work better than [name]Lorrin[/name]

I think [name]Loren[/name] and [name]Lorne[/name] work better

I went out with a man called [name]Lorin[/name] (just one “r”) so for me it’s a legitimate male version [name]Laura[/name]/[name]Lauren[/name] as well as a form of [name]Laurence[/name]/[name]Lawrence[/name]. It reminds me of the name [name]Lorne[/name] as well. He said that his musical parents named him after American violinist/composer/conductor [name]Lorin[/name] Maazel. He was very athletic so I never thought of the name as feminine but other people may have a different opinion so I think it would make a better mn choice.

I like [name]Lorrin[/name]! I knew of a guy named [name]Loren[/name] who went to my high school. I never knew him personally, but I do think it’s quite masculine and handsome.

I agree that however you spell it, it’s a nice variation of [name]Laurence[/name]/[name]Lawrence[/name].

Good luck!

Ohhh that explains why people sometimes spell my name [name]Lorrin[/name]! I didn’t know it was a legitimate spelling, I just thought they were weird haha
I like [name]Lorrin[/name] on a guy! A nice twist on [name]Laurence[/name], which just seems so dated.

I know a [name]Loren[/name], though he always went by a nickname. Not because he didn’t like his name (I don’t think) but because his fraternity gave him a nickname and it stuck (he kinda looks like a celebrity so it’s a reference to a character that celebrity played. Whoever came up with it was pretty creative, haha).

Thanks for all the input everyone! I think this one is worth running by the hubby  hmmmm… [name]Robert[/name] [name]Loren[/name]/[name]Lorrin[/name]? I like the way it sounds.

I have a male friend named [name]Lauren[/name], and don’t know any women by that name, so it is a man I think of first when I hear or see [name]Lauren[/name].
