Love Grows Where Rosemary Goes

My number 1 favourite right now, is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. Basically, there are 2 things that caused me to fall for it.

  1. The ever amazing song by [name_m]Edison[/name_m] Lighthouse that this post is named after - [name_f]Love[/name_f] Grows (Where My [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] Goes).

  2. The little girl in the movie [name_m]Little[/name_m] Manhattan, who is played by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u]. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] was the love interest for [name_m]Gabe[/name_m], played by [name_m]Josh[/name_m] Hutcherson. It’s an all time favourite movie for me.

a) What do you think of [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]?
b) Middle name suggestions
c) nicknames - [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f]? What else could there be?

I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamond[/name_f], but I’m not keen on [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]). However, that’s just personal preference because I can see it’s objectively a lovely name. Nicknames? [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f]…um, that’s all I’ve got!

#3 [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] nicknames
[name_u]Romy[/name_u], [name_m]Ross[/name_m], [name_m]Rome[/name_m], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]… maybe even Sea or [name_u]Sam[/name_u] with a stretch (they popped up in my head so I figure I might as well write them down) or Sia?

#2 I’m not good with name combos

#1 I just commented to say how much I absolutely love the name [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. I love the nature association, I like that I’m getting 2 names for the price of one that is a natural combination, I love the aesthetics of the name. It is feminine without being too frilly. It really is a fabulous name.

It’s a solid name, but kind of syrupy sweet for my taste.

I think sounds nice and will age well.

•[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
•[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
•[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Leanne[/name_f]
•[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]

[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is the best nickname in my opinion.

Funny story… My name could have been [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] but my mom though it was too popular. So she kept the [name_f]Mary[/name_f] after my great-grandmother and gave me another ‘first half’… I have a double barreled name with no dash
My ‘first half’ name was #141 in my year of birth but [name_f]Rose[/name_f] was #290 and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] was #506… [name_m]How[/name_m] is that for perspective?

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]! My sister has claimed it for the future  (we’re both name nerds!)
It’s beautiful: I think of the herb as well, which is lovely, but the name itself is just gorgeous!
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]

I love it! It’s so natural. It makes me think of spring gardens and thanksgiving dinners.
We chose it for our daughter’s mn. My favourite nn is [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]! It is so adorable. I always think of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] [name_m]Cotton[/name_m] from LOTR - but that’s cause I’m a nerd. It has some good mythological connections too. In Catholicism & the virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] was said to have laid her blue cloak down on the plant and that’s why [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] flowers are blue. In Greek mythology it was said to be draped over [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f] when she rose from the sea. It used to be used it marriage ceremonies and was said to be a love charm too.

What about [name_f]Esme[/name_f] for a nickname? It’s a bit of a stretch, but it works if you want something a little bit sleeker.

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] has been a favorite of mine for a long time, I like the nns [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] best.

@giinkies funny that you say that, my name was going to be [name_f]Hayleigh[/name_f], until my parents vetoed it, and went for [name_u]Haley[/name_u], which turned out to be #32 when I was born. My sister’s name, [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] was #94 when she was born. [name_m]Both[/name_m] times, my mum had gone for a more unique choice and it didn’t happen. [name_f]IMO[/name_f], she should’ve named me my middle name, or used [name_f]Hayleigh[/name_f]. At least then I’d have a proper nickname!

I’m glad so many of you like [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]! For me, it’s blending into the flower trend, but it’s uncommon enough to stand out as well!

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is one of my favorite names for a girl. It’s a great name that isn’t horribly popular and overused. It’s also really beautiful and classy in my own opinion My chosen nickname for it would be [name_f]Ro[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. For middle names I like short and simple ones like [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Louise[/name_f], and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] along with [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]! It is so hard to decide on nicknames though, because there are so many good ones!! I like [name_u]Roma[/name_u]…but I also think [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is cute…and I like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] too!
