[name_f]Sonia[/name_f] (pronounced SAWN-ya) is a really cool name, [name_f]IMO[/name_f], but what do you think?
I think [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] (and the Scandinavian [name_f]Sonja[/name_f]) is a very pretty name with an exotic European flair.
I love it! It’s very much my style. As [name_u]Mischa[/name_u] said, it’s got an exotic European quality, which I find very appealing.
It’s really fairly dated in the UK.
I prefer the spelling [name_f]Sonja[/name_f]/[name_f]Sonya[/name_f], but I do find it quite pretty.
I agree, it’s a little dated (the only [name_f]Sonia[/name_f]/Sonyas I know/know of are all late 30’s - late 40’s) I do like it though! They would definitely be the only one in their class!
Hmm. I pronounce this (and the few I know pronounce this) name as Sown-ya, not Sawn-ya. I too prefer the [name_f]Sonja[/name_f] spelling. I don’t hear the name very often so I don’t think it’s as tied to a specific generation (dated) as some. The ones I know are in their 30s and then I know a ten year old. I think it’d be very pretty on a little girl.
