I am wondering which name you prefer. I love them both equally but I can not decide which one to keep on my list.
So do you prefer [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like both but prefer one over the other? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like or dislike them both?
I love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (pronounced loo-see-ah)! It maintains the classic, familiar feel of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but also brings something a little different.
As above user mentioned, you could still definitely use [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Lucia[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], both for the classic simplicity and to avoid hassles with pronunciation. [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is lovely, but I wouldn’t want to deal with teaching people the preferred pronunciation and then still having it butchered. I could see using [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] in the middle.
Thank you for the replies so far. It is much appreciated.
islandmoon - I also like both. However I do pronounce [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] as L00-see-ah.
primbutcher - I like the idea of using [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and use [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as the nickname.
suze - Thank you for your opinion. I still can’t decide between them.
fromtheocean12 - I like the sound of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] being different but still having the same charm as [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
erin beth - You do have a point about the pronunciation issues. I pronounce [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] as loo-see-ah. However I do know that it can be pronounced loo-sha and lu-chee-ah. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] might be the simpler choice.
