I MUCH prefer [name]Lucy[/name]. It definitely is a formal first name. The pronunciation confusion of [name]Lucia[/name] would bother me, and would cause her no end of frustration I would think. (If I saw “[name]Lucia[/name]” written on someone’s name tag, I would avoid saying it aloud at all because of the question of LOO-shuh or lu-SEE-uh.) [name]Lucy[/name] is sweet and simple. If you wanted a longer version, I would recommend [name]Lucille[/name], which I think is frilly and fun. I think [name]Lucy[/name] would age well, given the popularity of I [name]Love[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] and other older uses (eg, in The Chronicles of [name]Narnia[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] was a child, but the stories are set in the 1940s, adding to the historic/aged feel of the name). [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] gets my vote.

I voted for [name]Lucy[/name], but I’m curious as to what origin the pronunciation of [name]Lucia[/name] comes from. I’ve seen other people on here pronounce it the same way, but I am only familiar with the Italian [name]Lucia[/name] which is pronounced as Loo-[name]CHI[/name]-a

I prefer [name]Lucia[/name] because it is more formal and gives her more options. I love having a formal name and a fun nickname ([name]Cynthia[/name]/[name]Cindy[/name]), it is the best of both worlds.
[name]Lucia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] gets my vote!

My formal name is [name]Lucia[/name], but I go by [name]Lucy[/name] all of the time when I’m in [name]Canada[/name]. I like having the option of [name]Lucia[/name], though and I’ve lived a few years in Spain so it’s a handy option to have (not that I couldn’t just use it anyway, even if my formal name were [name]Lucy[/name]).
I think [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] is nice!

I really like both. But [name]Lucy[/name] strikes me as more classic.

I like both so much, bUt I’m voting for [name]Lucy[/name].

I love them both honestly. I had this same issue for my own list but I eventually went with [name]Lucy[/name]. It felt more right on my list and I honestly just loved it a little more. [name]Lucia[/name] also comes with pronunciation issues that are easily avoided with [name]Lucy[/name]. I think will age wonderfully, I have met more adults named [name]Lucy[/name] than children and they are all successful and doing well for themselves. I don’t think their name has held them back in any way. I like the suggestion of [name]Lucille[/name] too if you a longer name

[name]Lucia[/name]'s pretty but I voted for [name]Lucy[/name] because it’s one of my favorite names. I also like [name]Lucilla[/name].

I’m a [name]Lucinda[/name] with nn [name]Luci[/name] and I love having a longer, more formal name for official occasions, and a short, approachable nn for everyday.

I prefer [name]Lucy[/name]!

Personally I prefer [name]Lucia[/name] but she would go by [name]Luce[/name] not [name]Lucy[/name]. I think [name]Lucy[/name] ages perfectly well and if that’s what you love then go for that. Me and my sister are [name]Millie[/name] and [name]Ellie[/name] respectively, they are our full names - not [name]Millicent[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] - and so far I think they’re growing up with us pretty well. Moral of the personal story, go for a name that you love.

I love both [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name]. However, I voted [name]Lucia[/name] as I’ve had a major crush on this name for years! Pronounce Loo-SHa so perfect!

I love [name]Lucia[/name]!! (pronounced Loo-SEE-uh)

I prefer [name]Lucy[/name] over [name]Lucia[/name]. But my fav is [name]Lucinda[/name] out of the three!

I love [name]Lucia[/name], but only pronounced Loo-ch-ia, as it is an Italian name. If not pronounced that way, I go with [name]Lucy[/name].
