Hi! I love Lucy but I also love the name Iris and the meaning. Big brother is Milo Alfred (Alfred is after my dad)
Do you like Lucy or Iris better with Milo?
Last name is Van Cleve
Lucy Van Cleve
Iris Van Cleve
Or maybe Lucy Iris Van Cleve
I always loved Clementine as a middle name for Lucy. Or I thought I should follow what I did for Milo and have Adele (my mother’s name) as the middle. Although my mom does not love her name so that makes it a little strange.
Or you can say any other suggestion that you love with the name Milo and our last name.
They’re both wonderful and you really can’t go wrong. But I would vote for [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_m]Van[/name_m] [name_m]Cleve[/name_m] would be cute.
Both are gorgeous and you truly can’t go wrong but my vote goes to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_m]Van[/name_m] [name_m]Cleve[/name_m] is just darling and goes so well with big brother’s name [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is just too sweet
I think Iris is marginally better as a match to Milo - but I think names should be chosen primarily on their own terms (and secondarily, as part of a sibset). As it happens, I also prefer the name Iris to Lucy but I think Lucy sounds awesome with your last name, and, to my ear, better than Iris VC. They’re both good options, just depends on what you prioritise.
I like Lucy Adele VC more than Lucy Clementine VC (the repeat Ns and Cs are a bit much). Plus I think an honour middle is lovely - would personally always choose an honour middle where all things equal. Edit: missed bit re your mum not liking her name - could you use a middle name or other way of honouring her/ her family?
Other first names that go with Milo:
Ruby
June
Hattie
Zoe
Nora
Heidi
Thea
Joni
Rosie
Tessa
Lottie
Sadie
Nina
Jane
Naming her after Someone you love is very sweet. Maybe she how your mom would feel about it and use her name or maybe she can share a name that means something to her / you both
Such a beautiful set of names to work with here! I agree with others that you can’t go wrong. I like how each of the names share one sound with [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]— [name_f]Iris[/name_f] picks up the long I vowel in [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] picks up the L sound [name_f][/name_f]— and they are all two syllable names, but they are still very distinct as well.
[name_f][/name_f]
I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] VC sounds charming. Personally, I don’t mind the repeating sounds at all. I also like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] VC or [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] VC. I’ve always loved the name [name_f]Adele[/name_f] though! Also [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— maybe one of those could work to honour your mother if she’s not crazy about her name as is? And [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] shares some sounds with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], which could be a nice bonus. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] VC is dreamy, I think!
I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] wins here for me, with it’s slightly spiky sounds! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is lovely though too
[name_f][/name_f]
Maybe see if there are any names your mum likes instead of [name_f]Adele[/name_f] for a middle?
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_m]Van[/name_m] [name_m]Cleve[/name_m] would be cute
I am just so inlove with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and I cannot get enough. I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] V… is beautiful and I really like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m]
I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_m]Milo[/name_m] together, they’re both so friendly and gentle sounding! Could you use your mother’s maiden name or middle name for your daughter’s middle, since your mother doesn’t like [name_f]Adele[/name_f]? [name_m]Or[/name_m] maybe a variant of [name_f]Adele[/name_f] (ex. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], etc.) [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] V C sounds lovely!
With the surname and your son’s name, [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is my favorite choice! [name_f][/name_f]I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] sounds perfect! The combo combines your favorite names and it flows well. [name_f]Adele[/name_f] is a gorgeous name, but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] is not enchanting me. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is adorable. It would be my 2nd choice.
[name_f][/name_f]
I would like to suggest [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] (after Adele).
[name_f][/name_f]
Playing with Adele’s letters, you may also like: [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Aderyn[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Idalia[/name_f]
I love both those names! [name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorite is [name_f]Iris[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] goes best with [name_m]Milo[/name_m].
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] would be precious! or even [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
If you don’t want to use [name_f]Adele[/name_f] as her middle name you could do always another nod to your mom, maybe you could use her middle name or if there’s a Character she loves or a certain flower, something like that.
[name_f][/name_f]
Some other suggestions (any repeats take as my agreeing with the other berrys): [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]June[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]Nora/ah [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ruby[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] in general, but am leaning toward [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] with [name_m]Milo[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] They make a great pair and don’t have the repeated strong “I” sound. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] is dreamy, though (Lucy [name_f]Adele[/name_f] too!)! [name_f][/name_f] Could you maybe use her middle name or a variant of [name_f]Adele[/name_f]? [name_f][/name_f] Like Adeline/Adalyn, [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Adelia[/name_f], or even [name_f]Ada[/name_f]? [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is very sweet, though!

A few other ideas:
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Romy[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m].
[name_f][/name_f]
Middle Name: If your mom doesn’t love her name, then see if she has a name she loves or there is something meaningful to her, such as her favorite flower or place to vacation. [name_f][/name_f] If neither of these options are feasible, then [name_f]Iris[/name_f] could certainly work as a middle name. [name_f][/name_f] You might want to check out this thread[name_f][/name_f] for some more ideas.
I love both with [name_m]Milo[/name_m] but if I had to pick, I would probably say [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! It’s such a sweet, gorgeous vintage name, you really can’t go wrong with it! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is a wonderful, spunky combo while [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] is lovely and sophisticated.
How about [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f] is from the word noble. It is a short version of [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f]. Another diminutiv is [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Alida[/name_f]

Other vatiations of the Name [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f] and variations of [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f] in other languages are:
I vote for [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m] are more similar but in a better way! I also love [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_m]Van[/name_m] [name_m]Cleve[/name_m]!
