Luisana?

So I was just watching a [name]Michael[/name] Buble interview on TV here in the UK, and he was talking about his Argentinian wife Luisana and I just thought how beautiful the name was, but I’m struggling to find any information about it online.

Unlike the Italian [name]Luciana[/name], it’s pronounced with 3 syllables, LUCE-ana.

What is everyone’s opinion on the name? And does anyone know anything about the origin of the name, I’m assuming maybe it’s Spanish considering she’s from [name]Argentina[/name] but if anyone can clarify?

Thanks all!

I’m afraid I just see her being teased as “Loose [name]Ana[/name].” Sorry.

I thought the same thing, unfortunately. The Italian pronounciation is nice, though.

I would assume it’s a diminutive or alternative to [name]Luis[/name], when I read it I thought of “[name]Louisiana[/name]”

Yeah I thought the same maybe, I found it on a Spanish baby name website so I’m assuming it must be Spanish.

I don’t hear Loose [name]Ana[/name] at all, maybe it’s my British accent and that [name]Ana[/name] doesn’t sound like a name to me (we would always pronounce si [name]Anna[/name]) and that I say it more like [name]LOU[/name]-sana, with the emphasis on the “lou” sound.

I still really like it

I immediately thought of [name]Louisiana[/name], too, sorry. I like the sound of it, but with that spelling it doesn’t work for me. I think you could pronounce [name]Luciana[/name] as loo-see-ana, if you like that…
