Lulita?

What do you think about the name [name]Lulita[/name]? It is a legitimate name I stumbled across today… of teutonic origin meaning famous in battle/prosperous in battle. Cute nn’s including lulie/lula/lulu. I think its really pretty and unique but perhaps a bit obscure with sibling [name]Matilda[/name] (also of Teutonic origin with a very similar meaning… i do love that the names are married in that way!)?

I personally find it too close to [name]Lolita[/name]…

It looks like [name]Lolita[/name], but somehow manages to be even less appealing, which is saying a bit. Not a fan, but the nickname options are cute. I prefer [name]Louisa[/name], although that might be too dowdy for you (same meaning, apparently? [name]Lulita[/name] is a variation of [name]Louisa[/name], according to Nameberry?). [name]Louisa[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] make a cuter sibset than [name]Lulita[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]. I’d suggest [name]Clotilde[/name] which has a similar-ish meaning, but is too close to [name]Matilda[/name]. [name]Eloise[/name]? [name]Ernestine[/name]? [name]Hedwig[/name]/[name]Edwige[/name]? [name]Melusine[/name]?

Sorry I also thought the same as the PPs… [name]Lolita[/name]. Which is a definate no.

[name]Lula[/name] would be a much better variation IMHO.

I think it is cute, but it makes me think of [name]Lolita[/name]. Sadly this name some people consider a term for a young harlot. But [name]Lola[/name] is pretty popular now so maybe [name]Lolita[/name] will follow? To me, it’s a loaded choice.

Talulah?

[name]Lolita[/name] is the title of an entire sub-genre of porn, as well as a goth fashion style, as well as of course Nabokov’s book about a pedophile, and the slang term for an oversexualized young girl. [name]Lulita[/name] manages to capture the bulk of the unpleasant imagery, unfortunately, while incorporating what sounds like a twang, ala Lureen. [name]Lulita[/name], led astray with a trailer of crystal meth?

I like [name]Lita[/name], though.

[name]Lucy[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Lucilla[/name]?

[name]Ludmila[/name]? [name]Lucienne[/name]. [name]Leocadia[/name]. [name]Leontine[/name]. [name]Luna[/name], [name]Lupe[/name], [name]Lucasta[/name], [name]Luella[/name].

[name]Tallulah[/name] is cool, as is [name]Talulla[/name].

It made me think [name]Lolita[/name] as well and want to point out that it is NOT a goth fashion style, it’s a Japanese fashion style and there are sub genres: Classic, Gothic, Sweet (my favorite), Punk, [name]Princess[/name], etc…

However, I think it is a lot more acceptable/usable than [name]Lolita[/name]. But it might be safer in the middle spot…

I stand corrected. I know Goths who are into Gothic [name]Lolita[/name] or melding the [name]Lolita[/name] aesthetic with goth stuff/interests, which is a bit different. Sorry.

I do like the fashions, I just think its really loaded as a name and spills over here.

I agree with the previous posters. What about [name]Lilou[/name]? Meaning: [name]Lily[/name] and you can get [name]Lou[/name], [name]Lulu[/name], [name]Lily[/name], etc. as a nickname. I hope this helps and you aren’t too disappointed!

Oh, it’s ok, sorry, I didn’t mean to come off rude, I just wanted to clarify that it isn’t just a Goth thing, though it is pretty common fashion for goths to take on in [name]America[/name].

Oh dear absolutely no love for [name]Lulita[/name] I’m not disappointed…it was just a name I stumbled across and was curious as to what others thought…i hadn’t heard it before and liked the teutonic link with [name]Matilda[/name]! [name]LOVE[/name] lula and lulie as well as lulu… I shall continue my quest for the perfect ‘lu’ name. I adore [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Lilou[/name], [name]Luna[/name] but just not convinced any of them are the one…perhaps if I found the perfect combo I would use one of them…back to the drawing board…sigh!!! Thanks for the honest feedback guys!
