Hello! Back again for more name opinions. 5 weeks until we find out gender, and I have been trying not to think about boy names (they are so hard!) until we find out for sure, but I can’t help it.
At the moment, my top choice of names is [name_m]Luther[/name_m]. Possibly [name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]. (Last name one syllable). I like that [name_m]Luther[/name_m] is a strong but uncommon name that is still a “normal” name. I think it fits well with big brother [name_m]Abel[/name_m]. I also love the tie to our Protestant roots.
What is your honest opinions/impressions/ideas about the name [name_m]Luther[/name_m]?
I love [name_m]Luther[/name_m], especially in the combo [name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]!
I really love names with history like [name_m]Luther[/name_m]'s, there have been so many notable bearers:

Thank you! I actually thought of [name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]Noble[/name_m] as an option but completely forgot about [name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]Noble[/name_m] [name_m]Duncan[/name_m]!
So, my husband doesn’t love [name_m]Fox[/name_m] as a middle name, so if he agrees to [name_m]Luther[/name_m] (he likes it but needs to wait to find out gender before commuting), we will have to think of another middle name.
Any ideas for a middle name for [name_m]Luther[/name_m]?
[name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is possibly one of the best combos I’ve come across here, especially a brother for [name_m]Abel[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] (I really like your style) ! There’s nothing not to like about it (both noble and spunky, sounds great, wonderful namesakes…).
I’d say go for it if it’s a boy ! Or at least keep it on your list !

Oh, I love [name_m]Luther[/name_m]! It would be a fantastic choice. [name_m]Luther[/name_m] is so off the radar; it’s unique and serious with a hard rock undertone to it. Does that even make sense? I could easily see [name_m]Luther[/name_m] has the lead singer of a heavy metal band. I feel the same way about [name_m]Abel[/name_m]. Both names are kind of badass without being overly macho or corny.
I seriously love this site. You berries are all so creative and insightful with your responses. I’m happy to hear the positive feedback, and I will keep trying to talk my hubby into [name_m]Fox[/name_m] as the middle name. (I agree, it’s kinda perfect!)

My sister-in-law is in love with the name [name_m]Luther[/name_m]! It’s been a hard sell, but it’s growing on me.
I love [name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] as a combo but I do feel that the one syllable [name_m]Fox[/name_m] with a one syllable last name might seem a bit abrupt…that might make me consider a longer middle. Then again, the [name_m]Fox[/name_m] really is a nice match against the very dignified [name_m]Luther[/name_m]. Hmm. [name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m]?

Yes! I like Luther, and LOVE the nickname Lu. I’ve never met a Luther in my life! What a charming name. I’d like to point out that some people will think of Martin Luther King Jr., not that that’s negative or anything, but Luther is strongly tied to him.

[name_m]Luther[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] if this baby is a boy. [name_m]William[/name_m] is my husband’s middle name, so I think he will like sharing a middle name with his daddy, and I think it sounds really nice. I still have time to change my mind, but we should find out gender on 3/25!
