Our other two daughters are [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Payton[/name_u]. At first [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] was the front runner. Now we are leaning towards [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is beautiful, [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] is darling. [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] seems to fit with [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] a tisch more than [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
You can’t go wrong
I like both names a lot, though neither seem to fit super well with your modern daughters names. But if I had to choose, I’d pick [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f].
I would choose [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] hands down! [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] has never been a favorite of mine, plus I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] a lot more with [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u].
Personally I feel neutral about both. I also would assume that [name_u]Payton[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] were both boys if they had a sister [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. After finding out they were all girls, I would assume a new marriage with the last child. I’m sorry, just trying to state my opinion. I would stick with a more gender neutral name.
I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] best. [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] seems harsh next to [name_u]Payton[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is definitely the most immediately feminine feeling of all three names but I wouldn’t go as far as to assume that your first two daughters were boys or that they were from a previous relationship; I can say honestly it would’ve never crossed my mind. It’s probably not the most matchy of sibsets I’ve ever seen, but I really don’t think it matters as long as you love each of the names separately. I would chose [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and not look back! Good luck, congratulations on #3!
I really like both [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. I’d probably choose [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] since I think it fits a tiny bit better with [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Payton[/name_u], but you can’t go wrong with either.
I would choose [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], personally, but that’s mainly because I don’t like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I know a [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] who gets called [name_f]Tabby[/name_f], which I think is gorgeous
Funny, the associations people have with names. [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] seems a bit too feminine for my taste. But, [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] doesnt seem too feminine. But, the only one I know is from Beetlejuice. I do like calling her [name_f]Tabby[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] seems complex when paired against [name_u]Payton[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] seems to work better, but doesn’t quite fit with the style you have going with [name_u]Payton[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. However, [name_f]Lydie[/name_f] goes quite well with [name_u]Payton[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u], I personally think, and could be the child’s full name or a nickname.
I like both names. However I feel [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] seems to fit better than [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] with your other daughters names
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]!! I personally [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]!
But I also think it works better with [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Payton[/name_u] (the connection with the Y)
I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], think it’s so underused and beautiful.
I prefer [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] over [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] but [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] goes better with [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Payton[/name_u]. That said, neither [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] nor [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] go well with [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Payton[/name_u].
I prefer [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], it’s one of those names that never go out of style (it’s lowest point was only 332). As neither name really matches with [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] super classic names, at least to me, seem like they can be siblings to anyone.
I agree that another gender neutral name is the way to go. Keep it equal.
If the children are [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and/or [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] might be upset one day that they didn’t get a pretty name like their younger sister. Likewise, if [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] grows up to be a tomboy or just likes boy names, she’ll be upset she wasn’t named like her sisters.
Seriously, one of the biggest rules of having children is to treat them all equally. It’ll save you a bit of trouble in the long run.
Wow, so you’re saying [name_u]Payton[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] dont have pretty names. Thanks for the input.
I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and… greatly dislike [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. So my vote is obvious.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Payton[/name_u] sound very modern, especially [name_u]Payton[/name_u].
I’m not a big matcher of kids’ names, but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] sound more timeless to me.
That being said, they are both great names. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is a bit more substantial sounding whereas [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] has an elfin, dainty quality (this dates me, as I watched years of Bewitched, not on syndication!).
You really can’t lose either way.
PS I do think [name_f]Tabby[/name_f] is a cute nickname, not sure what one would do with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (Liddy?).
Yes, tabitha makes me think of Bewitched also.
I think [name_f]Lydie[/name_f], yes. To be fair the other two dont have nicknames anyway. Either do i with the name [name_f]Monica[/name_f]
