If we have twin boys they will be [name_m]Rory[/name_m] or Rordan nn [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] nn [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f]MN options: [name_m]Kai[/name_m], Ryde, [name_f]Carol[/name_f], [name_f]Merritt[/name_f], [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f]
If we have two girls they will be [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f]MN options: [name_m]Kai[/name_m], [name_m]Lyn[/name_m], [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
If it is one of each it will be [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_f][/name_f]?
[name_f][/name_f]
I am leaning towards [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] because [name_m]Rory[/name_m] has significance to me and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] has family significance for DH. [name_f][/name_f]Thoughts? We have not shared them with family but but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] seem to evoke feelings good and bad. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] has bad nicknames, biblical and Hollywood connections. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is a place name and no [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] or other variants are not an option. I also think I might like the combo [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]?
I think both names are lovely with [name_m]Rory[/name_m].
[name_f][/name_f]
By âbadâ nicknames do you mean Lyd/Lyddie? I donât think theyâre bad at all. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] has a lovely literary heritage appearing in lots of classic novels. I personally prefer it to [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] but both are pretty. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the place name associations are a downside?
[name_f][/name_f]
Donât love them together as a combo but [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_m]Lyn[/name_m] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_m]Kai[/name_m] would be cute as twins, or either of them with Marilyn/Marielle.
I admit I do not care at all about the place name idea, but on other boards people are quick to mention they donât like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] because of that, so I wasnât sure if that would be something people would say to her throughout her life?
[name_f][/name_f]
For [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], on another board someone said they had a friend [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] that they called Litty and it really threw me off
theyâre both such pretty names! [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] sound similar though so with twin [name_m]Rory[/name_m] i would go with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_m]Rory[/name_m] & [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] & [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] are lovely names! [name_f][/name_f] I think theyâre lovely with your older two (Isaac & [name_f]Thea[/name_f], yes?). [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Rory[/name_m] is delightful, and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] are so lovely with him! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]My[/name_f] hesitation with [name_m]Rory[/name_m] & [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is theyâre both kind of âorâ heavy, but if that doesnât bother you, theyâre a great pair! [name_f][/name_f] For what itâs worth, I donât know that [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] needs a nickname, but I think Liddy/Lydie and [name_f]Dia[/name_f] are adorable! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is a bit rhymey but still nice (really like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] too).
[name_m]Rory[/name_m] [name_f]Merritt[/name_f] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Kai[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
I am also unfamiliar with âbadâ nicknames for [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
For more options, are places in [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (like the city Augusta), options maybe if these two donât pan out?
[name_f][/name_f]
If one of each, I would do [name_m]Rory[/name_m] [name_f]Merritt[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] are lovely (tbh, I see them as more name-y than place-y), and [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] are a great set!
[name_f][/name_f]
With [name_m]Rory[/name_m], I slightly prefer [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] because of the OR sounds in [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_m]Rory[/name_m], but I donât think that makes them unusable by any means
I think I like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] better than [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]Rory[/name_m] & [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] are sweet and spunky together, they pair better than [name_m]Rory[/name_m] & [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] do IMO.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is a fine combo and I prefer it to your other MN options.
Rory & Thomas
Georgia & Lydia
Lydia & Thomas
Lydia & Rory
Georgia & Thomas
I would never think of Litty for Lydia - only Lyddie, Dee-Dee, Lia, or Dia.
Iâm not as drawn to:
The name Rordan - I donât think itâs nearly as handsome as straight Rory. Rory is more than enough of its own. I also think Rordan will get - âJordan? Morgan?â and maybe âRordyâ or âRordâ sometimes.
Rory / Rordan & Georgia - as others have said because of the assonant âOrâ sound. If makes me want to say Georgia & Rorgia or Rordan & Geordan etc. itâs not a dealbreaker though - obv still fab names! Would go Rory & Georgia.
I donât mind Lydia as a middle for Georgia but if youâre having more kids, would keep Lydia in back pocket. I personally like Lydia more than Georgia (though definitely see Georgiaâs appeal).
Some combos:
Rory Merritt & Thomas George / Carol
Georgia Lyn & Lydia Kai
Georgia Marilyn & Lydia Marielle
Thomas George & Lydia Marilyn/Marielle
Lydia Marilyn & Rory Merritt
Georgia Marilyn & Thomas Carol
I like both names equally. As I am in the UK, [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] doesnât have the same place-name feel. For me, itâs just a pretty name. I think Lydiaâs nicknames are fine. Thereâs nothing wrong with Lyd or Lyddie. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], is less likely to get a nickname though as it is shorter. If you donât like the nicknames for [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], choose [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I think [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] sound good together. A boy I knew at school was called [name_m]Rory[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] and Iâve never forgotten his name. I always thought it was cool! [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] I quite like, personally. It rhymes, but the Italians and the Spaniards do it all the time, so why shouldnât you? [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] is also lovely.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] nn [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] together though I know that isnât the point of the post.
[name_f][/name_f]
Maybe itâs my accent, but I find [name_m]Rory[/name_m] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] difficult to say together, so I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] goes a lot better with [name_m]Rory[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] For first-middle combos I think [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] are very pretty.
