Lyla ... Lylah?

Do people spell [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] with and “h” at the end? I saw this on a baby name board and was surprised. Is this common?

Yes, some people do spell it [name_f]Lylah[/name_f]. In 2019, [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] ranked #120 in the US, while [name_f]Lylah[/name_f] ranked #638. It’s a much less common spelling, but not too rare.

(also, [name_f]Lila[/name_f] was #227 and [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] was #286, so there are many “correct” ways to spell this name.)

l like both ways. [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] is more common then [name_f]Lylah[/name_f] but [name_f]Lylah[/name_f] is not rare. I think both are cute. It depends how long her middle name is and that is how i would decide. Good luck

I know people who spell it [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] - there are many ways to spell it, the [name_f]Lylah[/name_f] spelling may be less “expected” but it’s not unheard of. Previous posters have put some good popularity stats

People do, but I believe [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] are more common.

Lilah is more common but I’ve seen [name_f]Lylah[/name_f] too

I wouldn’t and I’ve never seen it with a h

I quite like the h on the end - [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] is how I usually see it, but I actually think I prefer [name_f]Lylah[/name_f] :joy:

I prefer it without the H but some people do it!
