Lyle?

What are your thoughts on [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] for a girl?

Its possible, for certain! Names like [name_m]Noah[/name_m] and [name_m]James[/name_m] have shifted to girls easily enough [name_f][/name_f]- and I think it could be worth it, because [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] doesn’t seem particularly popular as a boy’s name anymore but could sound similar enough to ‘Lily’ and ‘Lilah’ to make a nice switch! I think a fairly feminine middle name would have to be included to bring it further into the the girl name territory.

Completely agree with the previous poster! [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] feels very similar to [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], & [name_f]Lola[/name_f], seeing as the double L is trending right now, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

I’d suggest combos like [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], or [name_m]Lyle[/name_m] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] – something longer & frillier to really establish the feminine sound.

I don’t mind it. It has a similar sound to [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] after all. I do slightly[name_f][/name_f] prefer [name_m]Carlisle[/name_m] or [name_m]Carlyle[/name_m] for some reason though

I love it!! especially as a middle name

I’m not a fan of boys’ names for girls, maybe just because it rarely goes the other way. But I love [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]!

I’m 50/50 on it. I think I’d come around if I meet one.

I think it could[name_f][/name_f] work, as other posters have said… [name_f][/name_f] I just prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f] myself.

I don’t hate it, but not my favorite. But to be fair, I’m more into super girly sounding names. I do like the idea of Lyelle. Pronounced Lee-el or Lie-el
