As a given name and not a nickname which is preferred, Mac or Mack? His middle name will be a family name, Emmanuel. I personally like the look of Mac Emmanuel since Emmanuel is such a serious name but would love to get your take. Thanks for your help!

If [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m] feels unbalanced with sweet little [name_m]Mac[/name_m] to you, perhaps a long name like [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] or [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] would suit you, and baby could have the nickname [name_m]Mac[/name_m]! Though, I do think it’s perfectly fine as just [name_m]Mac[/name_m] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m]. Sounds lovely.

I agree visually I prefer [name_m]Mac[/name_m] with the middle name. But… where one rarely uses their middle name I have to say I prefer [name_u]Mack[/name_u] as a first- it looks mire complete and [name_m]Mac[/name_m] as a first reminds me of [name_m]Mac[/name_m] n Cheese

I prefer [name_u]Mack[/name_u] I just feel the name looks more complete.
Still [name_m]Mac[/name_m] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m] is lovely.

I like them both. I generally prefer one or the other depending on the full name that it’s a nn for. However, I do believe that if you’re using it as a full name then [name_u]Mack[/name_u] looks more complete.

I feel like as a full given name, [name_u]Mack[/name_u] might feel a little more complete and stand-alone, however, I do think [name_m]Mac[/name_m] and [name_m]Mac[/name_m] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m] looks a lot nicer, and cleaner. I think I’d ultimately go with [name_m]Mac[/name_m] in this case.

[name_u]Mack[/name_u], as it feels more like a full name than a nickname so it’d cause the least amount of hassle. I do like how [name_m]Mac[/name_m] looks though so if the hassle doesn’t bother you then I’d pick [name_m]Mac[/name_m] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m].

[name_u]Mack[/name_u] gets my vote, though [name_m]Mac[/name_m] is totally usable. [name_f]My[/name_f] great-grandfather was [name_u]Charles[/name_u] [name_u]Mack[/name_u] and I’ve always loved it.
