Macarena

WDYT?
i know it’s like the song, but idc i just think it sounds nice
actually, the song was after someone & the singer renamed it to MACARENA after his daughter Esperanza Macarena
thoughts?
idc on the song i just think it sounds nice

it’s actually a spanish name…

It does have a cool sound, and the appeal of Magdalena, Marina, Matilda, Malina, Corinna etc, - plus nn Mac! But the song is already in my head and without meeting a Macarena, it is hard to look beyond that

(Macaria has the same origins - as another option?)

The song is still popular/well known enough that I think she would get a lot of comments/jokes about it. I could see it working as a middle name but I’m not sold for a first.

It is very pretty but unfortunately still strongly linked to the song. I don’t think it will be usable as a first name for a long time, unless you live in a place where it is more closely tied to the place and/or the religious associations. You could use it as a middle if the name has significance for you.

I’m not a fan mostly because it sounds like a food to me haha! Like macaroni or mackerel. It does sound nice though! Middle name would be fine, however, because people rarely pay attention to each others’ middle names.

I feel like in the US it is still too tied to the song. [name_f][/name_f] But it does have a fun rhythmic sound to it.

I think though I would opt for just [name_f]Reina[/name_f]

I can only think about the song, and according to the lyrics she openly admits and is proud about cheating on her boyfriend with his two friends xD So, I personally wouldn’t consider it. It sounds nice but the song’s connection is too much in the western world.

For me the association with the song is too overwhelming
