Mackenzie vs. Makenzie

Which spelling do you prefer? I think I’m leaning towards [name_u]Makenzie[/name_u], but I’m not 100% sure.

Mackenzie makes more sense to me, since it’s Mc- prefix + [name_u]Kenzie[/name_u]

That’s a good point! I thought maybe dropping the c would make it a bit more aesthetically pleasing (I like McKenzie too but to me, the A (MAckenzie/MAkenzie) makes it a first name while no A is a surname, based on those I’ve met lol).

I’ve always loved [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], so [name_u]Makenzie[/name_u] feels a little incomplete to me. But, I do like that you could get the nickname Mak better with [name_u]Makenzie[/name_u] (I love Mak on a girl, but [name_m]Mac[/name_m] and [name_u]Mack[/name_u] feel masculine to me for some reason, lol)

100% [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]. [name_u]Makenzie[/name_u] looks like a typo, IMO.

I voted for [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] because instinctively that’s the spelling I prefer. But the more I look at them, the more I prefer [name_u]Makenzie[/name_u] because it just looks simpler and seems a bit like a (successful) cross between [name_f]Makena[/name_f] and [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]. I think I’m just as confused about which I prefer as you now
