I can’t help myself from loving this name right now, I’ve tried and I can’t help it.
I’m pronouncing it like mad-uh-line. I understand the pronunciation for [name]Madeleine[/name] is with the “ehn” sound. Each spelling has their pros and cons; I like [name]Madeleine[/name] in cursive and on paper, while I love the children’s book [name]Madeline[/name] and straight forward pronunciation. Which spelling would you go with?
What middles would you pair with [name]Madeleine[/name]? The last family name I have is [name]Louise[/name], but I feel it’s a little L heavy with [name]Madeleine[/name]/[name]Madeline[/name]. I was also thinking [name]Mae[/name], in honor of my best friend, but I’m weary of M alliteration. I’m pretty open to all suggestions, except word names.
If you want the “line” ending, then I think the spelling [name]Madeline[/name] would be the way to go. I don’t think [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is that bad but [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Mae[/name] is odd. If you don’t mind the literary nod, what about [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] as a combo?
[name]Madeline[/name] is my daughters middle name, so I love it and find it very beautiful. I prefer it to [name]Madeleine[/name] as I feel [name]Madeleine[/name] is more serious and I don’t like the repetitive “e” in the name.
