[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there. Not sure if we’re having a girl… but dad really likes the nn [name_f]Maddy[/name_f], so I was wondering how [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] would fit with our two little ones, [name_f]Emilyn[/name_f] & [name_m]Kyler[/name_m], who mainly go by [name_f]Emi[/name_f] and [name_m]Ky[/name_m]. I prefer the -lyn ending, but seeing as we already used it once, would it be silly to use it again? My middle name is [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] so I like how it has a tie to me!
Thanks for reading. [name_m]Long[/name_m] way to go, but already compiling names!
I personally wouldn’t use the [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] spelling with [name_f]Emilyn[/name_f], but I certainly don’t think it’s silly to consider, especially since -lyn ties in to your middle name. That’s a sweet reason to use the [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] spelling!
If you think it would bother you, perhaps you could incorporate [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] into her middle name somehow.
My sister and I both have names that end the same way, so I don’t think it should be a problem! I think [name_f]Emilyn[/name_f], [name_m]Kyler[/name_m], and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] are a good set.
I prefer the spelling [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] but of the two, while I would generally prefer [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], given your middle name and the names of your other children, I would recommend [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] and i think it fits wonderfully with [name_f]Emilyn[/name_f] and [name_m]Kyler[/name_m]
I love [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]! It works really well with [name_f]Emilyn[/name_f] and [name_m]Kyler[/name_m]
I go back and forth on the two as well. I prefer [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] with your kid’s names though.
I much prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], but out of your choices I prefer [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. However [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is pronounced to rhyme with fine in my country. I like this pronunciation and find [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] pronounced ‘luhn’ confusing.
I pronounce the two differently: [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] ending with the word “line” and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] with the “lyn” sound just as it looks. I know many Madelines also pronounce it “lyn”–but it my opinion of you want the “lyn” ending [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] is the most straightforward and thus the best choice.
I also think it’s not at all silly with [name_f]Emilyn[/name_f]–especially since both names tie to your own middle name. Also, with [name_m]Kyler[/name_m], [name_f]Emilyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] all three have "y"s in their names, and they match nicely in terms of style.
If you don’t want the repeating ending for a second daughter [name_u]Madison[/name_u] could be another way to get to [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], but I prefer [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], myself.
[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] fits best with your style
