Does [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] or [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Esme[/name] sound better?
I know some people feel that [name]Mae[/name] is a filler mn, but it was my grandma’s mn. [name]Esme[/name] has the [name]Mae[/name] sound in it so I feel like it would still honor her.
Also how does Josephine Esme or Violet Esme sound?
I prefer [name]Violet[/name] [name]Esme[/name]. Dislike [name]Mae[/name] as filler (sorry, even in this case), [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Esme[/name] sounds weird, and I loathe [name]Josephine[/name].
Well, I’m sure you’re aware of the [name]Louisa[/name] [name]May[/name] [name]Alcott[/name] connection. It’s not a bad association, but people may think you named your daugher after her. Despite this and the fact that [name]Mae[/name] is a bit of a filler, I do prefer [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] to [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Esme[/name]. The back to back ‘z’ sound is a bit too buzzy to my ear. [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] [name]Esme[/name] both work better than [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Esme[/name], in my opinion. I’d go with [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Mae[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Esme[/name], or [name]Violet[/name] [name]Esme[/name].
[name]Louisa[/name] [name]Mae[/name].
I prefer [name]Esme[/name] as a name over [name]Mae[/name] but I think in the instance the lack of a vowel beginning makes [name]Mae[/name] a more desirable match with the a ending of [name]Louisa[/name].
I like [name]Esme[/name] better, but if you want to honor your grandma you should go with [name]Mae[/name], I don’t really think [name]Esme[/name] honors [name]Mae[/name].
Oh how I loathe the name [name]Esme[/name]! It just… doesn’t… work… at all.
It definitely doesn’t flow as nicely as [name]Mae[/name]. Which is a filler mn for a reason. It goes with almost anything and it’s a very cute name!
The only name of the 3 that [name]Esme[/name] would work with at all is [name]Violet[/name] in my opinion.
I love your style - [name]Louisa[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] are both sweet and beautiful classics. I think in either case that [name]Mae[/name] sounds best - stylistically, in terms of flow, and because it directly honours a loved one. Plus, [name]Louisa[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] both have prominent “S” sounds. [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] is a very pretty name (although I hope you don’t mind the strong association it will evoke for many people of [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] [name]Alcott[/name] - but that’s a wonderful, literary connection to have).
This. I’d also like to point out that [name]Mae[/name]/[name]May[/name] might be considered to be “filler” but if you use it for a reason, to honor your grandma, it’s not really a filler middle name.
