Opinions on the name [name_f]Maelie[/name_f] for a girl (pronounced May-lee)? We also like the shortened version [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a nickname.

It’s pretty! It fits very well with the trend of -lie/-lee—leigh names, such as [name_f]Kinslee[/name_f] or [name_u]Everly[/name_u].

[name_u]An[/name_u] old classmate of mine has a little Maylie and they always get compliments on it.

I like Maelie, but have never been quite sure on spelling. I like this variation though.

Regardless, I think this is one you would have to spell for people, but not a big deal. I also know of a little Maelee, that spelling has too many e’s for me!

It’s a lovely name and I like both the [name_f]Maelie[/name_f] and Maely spellings best. I like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] but [name_f]Maelie[/name_f] has more sparkle.

[name_f]Maelle[/name_f] has more of the flair I am looking for but I love this [name_m]Breton[/name_m] name and I like it when it is pronounced (may-lee) and not like [name_f]Miley[/name_f]

Really cute!

I could see it being confused with [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] but that’s the only negative I can think of.
