Are [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] too similar for siblings?
I don’t think they’re too similar at all. I think they’re very recognizable. But if you’re looking for alternatives to each with distinct different sounds, have you considered [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Orla[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Keira[/name_f], and [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] & [name_f]Aisling[/name_f] or [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] & [name_f]Oona[/name_f]?
Personally, I do think they sound a bit too similar. Both beautiful names though!
I think the shared v sounds are a bit too similar for siblings.
More ideas:
Áine
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f]
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ciara[/name_f]
[name_f]Roísín[/name_f]
No, just [name_f]Irish[/name_f].
I actually know siblings with these names however [name_f]Maebh[/name_f] (Irish spelling) I come from [name_f]Irish[/name_f] stock and live in an area with a large [name_f]Irish[/name_f] population so for me this sibling set feels familiar. I love both names! I think the sibling set is similar but works.
I don’t think they would in an Irish context (?), but outside they probably do feel a little matchy-matchy as one syllable V-ending names.
I would personally mix it up with different sounds /syllables. That said, and I see I’m dithering, it’s not unusual for people to choose names that are similar for their children, so if you’re ok with the occasional person noticing that, go for it!
Visually no, but in sound I do think they’re a little too similar, sorry! Both beautiful names though!
