I love both and I get different vibes from each of them, though I think I prefer [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]. I have a thing for [name_m]French[/name_m] names. Which do you prefer, and why?
[name_f]Maeva[/name_f] is my number one girls name, so obviously I’d choose that. That being said, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] gets more positive feedback and [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]'s pronunciation seems to be a stumbling block for people.
[name_f]Maeva[/name_f] is on my list. I chose [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] as I prefer it slightly and it works better with our surname but like pp said, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] seems more popular feedback wise!
Only problem I’ve got with [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] is that [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is so popular now that I worry she would be called [name_f]Ava[/name_f] a lot by mistake!
@otri how do you pronounce [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]? Personally, I pronounce it as [name_f]May[/name_f]-eh-va, but I do love the [name_f]May[/name_f]-va pronunciation. Though, I agree with @ippy that people would probably hear [name_f]Ava[/name_f] instead of [name_f]May[/name_f]-va.
I pronounce it (in [name_m]French[/name_m]) as Ma-eh-va (Maëva), but I think in English it probably would turn into [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]+uh (may-va).
I think in an English-speaking country (or family) I’d go with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], since both are lovely and that one has the more straight-forward pronunciation. But stylistically I might have a slight preference for [name_f]Maeva[/name_f].
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f], for sure!
I pronounce it both [name_f]MAY[/name_f]-və and ma-EH-vah. The ma-EH-vah pronunciation is correct but [name_f]MAY[/name_f]-və is more intuitive to me because of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].
[name_f]Maeva[/name_f] is more beautiful!
