I was going to name my daughter [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. Turns out [name_u]Clem[/name_u] is a boy. I found the name to be unusual, magical, mercurial, stylish, and bubbly. The issue is, I can’t find a name like that, with those characteristics, for a boy. I really need help with suggestions here, all help is welcome. Preferably nothing that is common, and not [name_m]Clement[/name_m]. I love to have names that reference a song or poem, but that isn’t necessary at all. Thank you so much!

I’m no good at remembering names from songs so I have just gone with names from my own list that I view as magical (for various reasons)

For some reason when I hear the name [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] I always think of the name [name_u]Banjo[/name_u] (there was an Australian poet named [name_u]Banjo[/name_u] [name_m]Paterson[/name_m] and I always thought it was such a spirited name).

I adore [name_m]Valentin[/name_m]! It makes me think of a film, Mirrormask that I’ve always loved. I also really like [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]! Thanks so much!
[name_m]Valentin[/name_m] is shooting to the top of my list. I’m surprised I couldn’t think of this one. It reminds me of in the movie, when [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] thought [name_f]Helena[/name_f]'s name was very “drab.” (Admittedly love [name_f]Helena[/name_f] too though).
“Go for something with a bit of dignity and style, mixed with a bit of romance. Something like…[name_u]Valentine[/name_u].”
“Why? What’s your name?”

Ooh, I love [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]. Great suggestion!

My son, [name_u]Tristan[/name_u], named his son [name_f]Marin[/name_f]. It means “of the sea” – very magical and strong-but-romantic. (The country of San [name_m]Marino[/name_m] takes its name from [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_f]Marin[/name_f] . . . and in Croatia and [name_f]France[/name_f], it is a male name.) Another [name_m]French[/name_m] name I love is [name_m]Mael[/name_m] – pronounced “Mile.” (For girls, they use [name_f]Maelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Maelys[/name_f] – pronounced “My -elle” and “My- ell-EES.”) I also like the name [name_m]Talon[/name_m].
