Magnolia?

juggling around my lists & thinking of adding back former list-maker [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. i’m from Mississippi (live in [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] now), so i think that’d be a nod to where i came from. we have a [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] NN [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] in the family, so that NN couldn’t be used. i like [name_u]Noli[/name_u]. anything else? thoughts on the name?

I think it’s cute because of the association with where you’re from. And it’s def different, but nothing too crazy. [name_u]Noli[/name_u] is cute, I do like the nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] too.

I mean it is a really nice name so I would use it.

I like the name [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and was looking for a longer form of it and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] was one of the options suggested.
The only thing with [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is that (as one poster put it) it is fine as a name anywhere but [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans (nola) as due to the being the namesake of the town it is the most generic dog name there.
So seeing as you live close to the Mississippi I mightn’t use it, but it is a good nickname.

Maybe [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] or even [name_f]Leah[/name_f] ([name_f]Lia[/name_f])

haha yeah, growing up so close to [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans ‘[name_f]Nola[/name_f]’ is 100% [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans to me! thanks for the suggestions!

Howdy ; )

I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] she feels really sugary and southern, which is a total nod to where your from, as in my head, Mississippi is all sweet and sugary. Furthermore the ‘[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]’ nickname is a odd to the family member [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]’. I also love the nickname [name_f]Nola[/name_f] for [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] but not sure on [name_u]Noli[/name_u] feels a little odd. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is a lovely choice.

I actually like [name_u]Noli[/name_u] and think it is the best nickname.

And me using [name_f]Nola[/name_f] (living nowhere near [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans) was on purpose as i like place names.

I love love love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! But my df hates it. :frowning:

Anyways, I think the nn [name_u]Noli[/name_u] is very cute. I also love [name_f]Nola[/name_f].

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! Of the flower names [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] are my favorites. First ran across it in the film Show Boat and everyone called her [name_m]Nollie[/name_m] which is a great way to keep the flavor of the name, much more so than [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is another good alternative.

I just love the name [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Nola[/name_f] to [name_u]Noli[/name_u], but they’re still both really cute. I know a girl with the name [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], only she goes by Magna. It’s kind of cool in my opinion.

[name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is a cute option for [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. It’s been growing on my lately and I quite love it. Great name choice, by the way. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is beautiful.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is beautiful and [name_f]Nolie[/name_f]/[name_u]Noli[/name_u] is a cute nickname. Only thing about it is because it is so different to ‘non-Berries’ it will get funny looks, no doubt. I have it on my girls list at the moment so I think it’s worth it though.

Also I love the suggestion of [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] as a nickname for it too! I never thought of that!

Edited for privacy.

This was my top name for our surprise baby- who turned out to be a boy. Still top name!

Husband wanted [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], me [name_u]Noli[/name_u].
