I would think Maia is My-uh and Maya is May-uh or My-uh. In Australia, Maya spelling would more likely be May-uh of the two.

Maia (or Maya as My-uh) has a more essential, epic and ethereal about it. Imagine her being a writer or painter.

Maya (May-uh) feels more grounded, summery and pleasant. Imagine her being a doctor or social worker.

I like Lily, Holly & Maya (maybe with the My-uh pronunciation though?). But if you want to deliberately have repeat and overlapping sounds - then Ella. It’s possibly a little too common for me though (with all the Elle names) but it’s beautiful. The warm and sunny Sadie would be my third choice - looks great with the others, I just don’t like the name as much as Maia/Maya and Ella. Elowyn is cool, just not as cohesive - it does sound good when you say them as a list.

Edit, wildcards: Ivy, Maisie, Gwen and Freya

Edit 2: came back to say, is your MAH-ya what I would write as MAY-uh? Or are they different? I read MAH-ya differently to what I think the name is (lol).

Also, if you want the more outdoorsy and enchanting feel, then Elowyn does work. I’m not an Ellie or Winnie fan though and it depends on how you see Lily and Holly as a set (and the type of cohesion - if any - you want).

[name_f]Maia[/name_f] brings to mind the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] goddess. It gives me a springtime feel. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] reminds me more of [name_m]Central[/name_m] [name_m]America[/name_m] due to both the [name_f]Mayan[/name_f] Empire and the backgrounds of the [name_m]Mayas[/name_m] I know IRL.

[name_f][/name_f]

Based on spelling alone, [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is more appropriate for MAH-ya in my eyes. However, where I am in the US, it’d likely be pronounced MY-ah.

[name_f][/name_f]

Of the choices, I prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]. They’re the most cohesive set to me.

I’d pronounce them both as MAH-yah! This is my own online name and I was very torn between them when trying to decide, but I decided [name_f]Maya[/name_f] just looks a bit more visually pleasing to me! Both spellings give me colourful, sunny vibes

[name_f][/name_f]

From your list, I think [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] are the 2 that work the best!

I would pronounce these the same.

I like the look of [name_f]Maia[/name_f] more but [name_f]Maya[/name_f] seems to lean more to the MAH-ya pronunciation?

This is why, even though I love Maia/Maya/Maja, I would never use it. I can’t decide which one I like best. They both have different vibes, but I love them all.

I like them both a lot! [name_f][/name_f] I visually prefer [name_f]Maia[/name_f] but I would probably use [name_f]Maya[/name_f]? [name_f][/name_f] I think it’s the most popular/familiar spelling, and I like its ties to the Hebrew name too. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Maia[/name_f] feels more fluid and watery, gives me mermaid vibes! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] feels more timeless but less artistic—she reminds me of [name_m]Israel[/name_m] and the ancient [name_f]Mayan[/name_f] civilization.

[name_f][/name_f]

I think I like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] a little better with [name_f]Holly[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but Maya/Maia does fit in really well, and I love her too! [name_f][/name_f] I also like [name_f]Maja[/name_f], though it doesn’t feel as good of a fit as [name_f]Maya[/name_f] or [name_f]Maia[/name_f] does with your other favorites for me.

[name_f][/name_f]

For the my-ah pronunciation, [name_f]Maya[/name_f] seems most intuitive, but I would say [name_f]Maja[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f], and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] all like my-ah.

[name_f][/name_f]

Good luck!

I pronounce them the same. I guess pick [name_f]Maya[/name_f] if you want less misspelling issue, but personally I’m partial to [name_f]Maia[/name_f] because of the Greek myth association.
