Male name for female character?

In one of my other threads, I asked for male name suggestions for a female character, but thought I’d make its own thread.

Background: She’s in her early 20’s, she’s either mixed race, ethnically ambiguous or asian (not sure yet, though leaning towards [name_f]Asian[/name_f]). That being said, this is a sci-fi world and so race isn’t really that cut-and-dry. She works on a cargo ship as a chef (that’s where the story is set). She’s confident, independent, funny, smart.

I want a name for her that is much more likely to be a male name, but also fits her and fits into a sci-fi world. Not something like [name_u]Toni[/name_u] or [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] where they can be, and often are, used for girls - even if rarely. Something that you would rarely, if ever, hear on a girl.

Currently I’m considering:

[name_u]Scott[/name_u] / [name_u]Scottie[/name_u]
[name_u]Joss[/name_u] / Jossa (does this sound too feminine?)
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Truman[/name_m]
[name_m]Turner[/name_m]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] (though another character is called [name_u]Lux[/name_u] so maybe not)
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_u]Eliot[/name_u]

Chip? Too nicknamey?

Hmm yeah maybe. And also the main character is named [name_m]Kip[/name_m] and so they are much too similar.

Oh yes…
I like [name_u]Scottie[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] from your list. Although I have heard them both in feminine contexts.
Maybe [name_u]Mack[/name_u], or [name_m]Mick[/name_m]/Mike/Michael?

I considered [name_u]Mack[/name_u] but it just doesn’t feel quite right for her. I think it’s impossible to find a name that’s exclusively male in all honesty as people give their girls all kinds of names. Easier the other way around, nobody names their son [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] haha.

what about [name_u]Max[/name_u] or [name_m]Maxx[/name_m]?

I’m thinking a surname would fit her.
