Male named Claire?

Text deleted.

Hmm. [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u] and [name_m]Larry[/name_m] are the closest to [name_u]Clair/name_u itself I can think of. I’ve met a couple guy Clairs, but never with the [name_f]Claire[/name_f] spelling. Are you hoping to keep it on the shorter side? Some “C” names:

[name_m]Caspar[/name_m]
[name_u]Cade[/name_u]
[name_m]Cale[/name_m]/[name_m]Cael/name_m
[name_u]Carter[/name_u]
[name_u]Carson[/name_u]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Carl[/name_m]
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u]

Good luck!

I’m not sure about the [name_f]Claire[/name_f] spelling, but [name_u]Clare[/name_u] is a unisex name which is a shortened form of [name_m]Clarence[/name_m]. If you really like the sound of [name_u]Clare[/name_u] but aren’t sure about how masculine it is, I would use [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] but with [name_u]Clare[/name_u] as a nickname.

Other names similar to [name_f]Claire[/name_f]:
[name_m]Claron[/name_m] ([name_m]Clarence[/name_m] diminutive)
[name_u]Caroll[/name_u]
[name_u]Carel[/name_u]
[name_u]Caro[/name_u]
[name_u]Carbry[/name_u]
[name_u]Carlin[/name_u]
[name_f]Carley[/name_f]

[name_m]Clayton[/name_m]? Then you can keep the main concept of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] without having everyone assume you’re a girl. [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] is an obvious one, as well, though maybe a bit on the old-man side. [name_m]Clark[/name_m], [name_m]Carleton[/name_m]/[name_m]Carl[/name_m], also might be good picks, and also there is the nickname [name_f]Clarry[/name_f] for consideration.

Here’s some suggestions:

C names:
[name_m]Clint[/name_m]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Clark[/name_m]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u]
[name_m]Charles[/name_m]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u]
[name_u]Corey[/name_u]
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_u]Cade[/name_u]
[name_m]Callister[/name_m]
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m]

“[name_f]Air[/name_f]” sounds:
[name_u]Sinclair[/name_u]
[name_m]Ares[/name_m]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
McClair
[name_u]Adair[/name_u]
[name_m]Omaire[/name_m]

[name_m]Clay[/name_m]
[name_m]Clint[/name_m]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]/[name_m]Coal[/name_m]
[name_m]Cale[/name_m]
[name_m]Cas[/name_m]
[name_m]Card[/name_m]
[name_m]Cord[/name_m]
[name_u]Claude[/name_u]
[name_m]Clerk[/name_m]
[name_m]Cliff[/name_m]

Here are some short names that are similar to [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but more masculine. I hope these help and good luck picking a name!

[name_m]Clarence[/name_m] seems the most obvious solution.

I think [name_u]Clare[/name_u] is an awesome unisex name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] remove the “i” and you’re golden! If not, I like the suggestions of [name_m]Clint[/name_m] and [name_m]Cliff[/name_m], and would add [name_m]Clive[/name_m]. I like the idea of maintaining a 1-syllable Cl- name.

I thought of [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] too. It reminds me of the angel in It’s a Wonderful Life.

There’s also a rare Italian name, Chiaro, which is the masculine equivalent of [name_f]Chiara[/name_f] (Italian form of [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_f]Clara[/name_f]).

Clarus was also the masculine Latin form of [name_f]Clara[/name_f].

Or remove the “e” on the end to get [name_u]Clair[/name_u], the masculine form in [name_m]French[/name_m] (since [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a [name_m]French[/name_m] name).

My first thought was [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] but i guess thats a bit obvious
I don’t see how you get from [name_u]Clare[/name_u] to [name_m]Harry[/name_m]…to me [name_u]Clare[/name_u] has an ‘air’ sound but [name_m]Harry[/name_m] has an ‘ah’ sound.

Best of luck

I like [name_u]Clair[/name_u] or [name_u]Clare[/name_u] as a nice unisex name. The suggestions of [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], and [name_u]Adair[/name_u] are nice too, but if you’re attached to the ‘C’ initial, you might consider [name_m]Carl[/name_m], [name_m]Charles[/name_m], [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_m]Cole[/name_m], [name_m]Caelan[/name_m], or just simply [name_u]Cal[/name_u] (my favorite!)

I like the previous suggestion of [name_m]Clarence[/name_m]. Might not be the most dashing of names, but it’ll make the transition a lot simpler. I’ve heard both [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_m]Clay[/name_m] as nicknames for [name_m]Clarence[/name_m].

On that note, you could always use [name_m]Clay[/name_m]. It may be easier than [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] to get used to, since it’s so similar. It also is very masculine.

My last thought was [name_u]Cary[/name_u]. [name_u]Cary[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_u]Cary[/name_u] Elwes… just a couple of guys I associate the name with. Good luck!

Good lord dont use harry.

I love claire for a guy, it gives you character and uniqueness.

Id keep it if i were you.
