Howdy Mama’s.
I’d like to thank everyone for posting in my first thread.
I was seeking help for a boy name to go with our other boys Trapper and [name_m]Crockett[/name_m].
I shared with my husband family names that I loved. One of them was [name_m]Doc[/name_m]. We both really loved it.
We don’t even mind if [name_m]Doc[/name_m] didn’t have a middle name.
Please tell me if it sounds horrible to you. It’s ok if you think it does.
So it’d be Trapper, [name_m]Crockett[/name_m] and [name_m]Doc[/name_m].
[name_m]Doc[/name_m] is cool to me, reminds me of [name_m]Doc[/name_m] [name_f]Holliday[/name_f]! And it’s been in my family.
Gracias Mama’s
[name_m]Doc[/name_m] is 100% [name_m]Doc[/name_m] [name_f]Holliday[/name_f]! And pretty cool. Pretty sure [name_m]Doc[/name_m] was his nn because he was … Was it a dentist or something? The thing with naming is that in the end you look at your baby and you give them the name you love and it becomes them. Did fits aesthetically because [name_m]Davey[/name_m] [name_m]Crockett[/name_m], JH [name_f]Holliday[/name_f] and trappers all evoke this lovely western imagery. I think a middle name would help [name_m]Doc[/name_m] feel more substantial or [name_m]Doc[/name_m] as a middle name for something a little longer could help fill thing in if you’re feeling like you’re questioning it. I find it helps to think of the baby and the boy and the man he will be. [name_m]Say[/name_m] you call him [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] [name_m]Doc[/name_m] (though maybe not this exactly because the t t
Is so similar to [name_m]Crockett[/name_m]) for example, it fits the theme and feels more solid. You would have trapper, [name_m]CROCKett[/name_m] & [name_m]DOC[/name_m] … So [name_m]Crock[/name_m] & [name_m]DOC[/name_m] are quite similar and that’s to me what makes doc feel short because it’s similar to half his brothers name then stops. My suggestion would be [name_m]Doc[/name_m] as the boy’ s middle name and something like [name_m]Warden[/name_m] as a first… There were also a lot of other good suggestions on the previous post…did you change your middle name idea?
I’m not really a fan. [name_m]Doc[/name_m] sounds really similar to [name_m]Crockett[/name_m], and I feel like it lacks substance. It’d be a cool nickname for someone else like [name_m]Decker[/name_m]/[name_m]Declan[/name_m]/etc or a cool middle name!
I agree it’s better as a nickname or a mn
Like dinosaursroar said [name_m]Doc[/name_m] [name_f]Holliday[/name_f] was a dentist. His name was [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_f]Holliday[/name_f]. I think that [name_m]Doc[/name_m] as a name would fit well with Trapper and [name_m]Crockett[/name_m], however, there also is the [name_f]Snow[/name_f] White dwarf named [name_m]Doc[/name_m]. [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] [name_m]Doc[/name_m] is cute because [name_f]Holliday[/name_f] was friends with [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] Earp.
Other possible names
[name_m]Virgil[/name_m] [name_m]Doc[/name_m] (after [name_m]Virgil[/name_m] Earp)
[name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_m]Doc[/name_m] (after [name_m]Warren[/name_m] Earp)
Clanton (after [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] Clanton)
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Doc[/name_m] ( and yes there was a [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] Earp too… Big cowboy family in Tombstone)
I actually really like [name_m]Doc[/name_m] with your other kids. However, I do agree it sounds similar to [name_m]Crockett[/name_m] (due to the hard C sound).
What about [name_m]Maddoc[/name_m] or Murdoch as a full name?
Think of the boy as an adult applying for uni or a job. Name [name_m]Doc[/name_m] Surname does not look very professional. [name_m]Doc[/name_m] as nn certainly, but please give him one of the above names or a second name.
I like the suggestion of Murdoch “[name_m]Doc[/name_m]” with your boys.
Lol eh no that’s not an issue to me at al.
Well I don’t think [name_m]Doc[/name_m] is horrible, it’s actually pretty cool and has a similar vibe. But I do enjoy bold choices. And I’ll go out on a limb and say I’m not sure how much “professionalism” will matter with names in two to three decades from now. I mean, there were 2661 boys named [name_m]King[/name_m] last year.
What I don’t love about it in your case, however, is that it sorta rhymes with [name_m]Crockett[/name_m]. I would probably get tongue tied and say “Dockett” a lot.
Not that sib names have to match, but in your case, you have a detectable theme going, and I think a longer name might be a better compliment. But at the very least, I would definitely use a middle name with a three letter first name.
I’ll admit that when I saw it I immediately thought of [name_m]Doc[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], but that’s just because my toddler is obsessed with the Pixar Cars movies.
It feels like it fits quite well in your set, though the sound is very similar to [name_m]Crockett[/name_m].
